25 or more years ago i used to meet up with two horseshoe haulers in France to fish together. Those two changed my angling and learned me all sorts of stuff.
One of the things had to do with leads. Normal swivel pears all have the loop perpendicular, and then a swivel to not make it sit funny when presented. Down side, more movement before the lead sets the hook. They made their own pears with the loop parallel to the lead, thus no need for a swivel and more direct hooking.
Eversince we lost track of eachother i tried to find leads with the loop inserted the right way, but no luck. Of course you could try to twist the loop, but my experience is that those loops break from the twisting.
Today i finally took delivery of leads with the right loop, the pb swivel leads! Very happy with them and a little tribute to those 2 that did it right all those years ago!
