Can you use Jag's ordinary banksticks for the uprights?

Just had the pod turn up. It's very swish.

I was told a story about those. It could be a load of crap obviously. But I was told that they never ordered them in black. Apparently they got a bit of a shock when they opened the container. So instead of binning the lot they decided to release a never to be repeated special edition. Who knows. Could be a load of nonsense.

Not my cup of tea personally. But I’ve got absolutely no doubt they will sell out. Especially as these will probably just be a short run. People love something exclusive. Also if you look at how the grey stuff still sells for good money, exclusive bits off tackle seem to hold their value.

Yeah I seen that in my opinion it looks horrible, I just would not like a colourful pod I’m not even a fan of stainless because of that lol I much prefer my jag black compact pod I really like it look minimal and this does that for me, couldn’t think of anything worse than a brightly coloured pod

The best thing about them is they act as a warning sign, they're one of those products that screams knobhead avoid at all costs. Nash have lead the way over the years but this sort of ***** pip's Nash to the post.

Big fan of JAG by the way, have a 316 and a micro amongst other bits.

I have received a reply from Todber who have said they increase the price of some of their eBay items due to fees and so that they can offer "free" postage......

If anyone is after the nano version it is showing as in stock on their website at £231.99 with free p&p....

Thanks for heads up from Tober manor re the pod. They did call me on Wed or Thursday last week i think. They said it was for the nano, fancy the micro so left it.

Didn't realise they wanted £259 though....not good.

I saw that and messaged Jag to see if the RRP has increased above £231.99........it hasn't and Jag appear to be not best pleased with Todber Manor so expect to see that reduce! They also have the SP vice handles at £11.99 when they have an RRP of £8.99.......

Bang out of order that!

Jag also said there will be plenty of the Micro and Nano pods going out to the shops in the coming weeks so even if Todber reduce the cost I would not give them my money out of principal...

Looking at a budget option of fixing down micro pod using standard sticks.
Purchased a couple of different sizes of Battery terminal connectors as the one shown here should have been possibly too small diameter for a jag stick, but as the end is fluted and once the flat section is drilled out for the point to go further it should be okay

Little bit of painting or black shrink tube once the lug section is angled so it sits flat on stages etc and these may just work and as 5 are only £7.39 deliered it isnt much of a loss if it fails

70mm square cable size -12mm from dropdown box

one on the end of a jag stick

View down the fitting - drilling the flat section out will allow the stick to go further in for better stability

The screw down feet are exclusive to the micro/nano kits as far as I’m aware, they’ve certainly never been available at any of the shows that I’ve helped out at. You’d need to buy four legs, a bar and probably a bag. So apart from the uprights you’d nearly be buying a kit anyway. Can’t really see the point in Jag selling them separately.

I dont think you can buy them individually mate, when the pod first came out I spoke to the guys on the stand at the nas and they said they were considering making a foot that goes on the end of banksticks but that was a couple of years ago now...maybe it was just an idea they were banding round..

I tend to agree, the kit would be more sensible and the screw down feet are certainly a great feature....the swims I was talking about have a sleeper across the front in most so it would screw into that nicely....the only thing that puts me off the Nano/Micro is that shape of pod, it sends shivers down my spine when i think of the similar style ones from 20 years ago when a run would see the whole thing end up tipping over or the bars twisted round etc.....granted i know they have moved on massively but the super compact version is so much more stable in my view......I do have the 316 version which i have owned since they first came out and love it but it is so heavy and weight is a factor on my lakes as there are some long barrows....

I think if I didn’t have the sticks already, and I wanted a micro/nano then I’d buy the kit, as you’re getting the peg through feet and a carry bag.

If someone already has bars, stage bites and sticks then I think the pod bar is a definite option.

Personally I use a second hand grey super compact that I just keep tucked into my rucksack for the odd occasions that I need a pod.

The micro/nano pods really are a lovely bit of kit, but I couldn’t justify buying one when I already have a super compact, having said that when snag fishing the micro is excellent. Especially when tightened up with the lock it tool and used with rod lockers and lock downs. It’s going nowhere even when fishing locked up solid., bow string tight.

Have been thinking about that....only have xcavators but the inner to those is the same as the stage stands which will fit the Nano and Micro pods, I would then have to buy the pod bar and 4 x normal banksticks but it would work out slightly cheaper at just under £200....

I was just double checking because I’ve never read another comment anywhere about the poor finish by anyone and with you saying the new batch is apparently spot on, so got me thinking they have had issues with them and altered the way they are finishing them

If you’ve already got sticks and buzzer bars. You could just buy the micro pod bar on its own if you’re not worried about having the specific pod legs.

Really torn between the Micro Pod and the Super Compact Pod in black.....I fish 2 plus 1 bars and xcavators most of the time but a lake I will be doing a bit on next year has rubbish swims for the xcavators/bank sticks, (deep, loose stones) and it's all pod fishing.....my 2 plus 1's will obviously fit both pods and whilst i like the look of the Micro the Super Compact will be much more stable on the swims i will be fishing....what to do....

Got one start of August and sent it back due to poor anodised finish on main bar and legs, different shades and grainy finish
Finally agreed to s refund in December as any sent to shop apparently where the same if not worse.
The uprights ( stage stand parts ) where spot on
Was waiting for the 2 plus 1’s and some banksticks to come in and when on phone expressed my concerns about the finish but shop said they are fine which they where

I bought one from JMC tackle in Ludlow 3 weeks ago.
Not sure if they have anymore, I do know they have the Nano micro pod which the only two differences are the nano as a shorter carbon shaft so does not extend as far. Also the nano case is smaller.
Give them a bell to see what they have left.
