Yep, exchanged it no problem. Mind you, the workmanship was shocking. Shame I can't post the pictures.

I'm on really good terms with my tackle dealer, I've done him quite a few favours. In turn he looks after me, so he'd be on Avids case if they played up.

Every model of bivvy seems to have some issues with their stock of the product. Did they replace it for you??

I've got the avid. I'm on my second one, because the first one leaked. The workmanship was awful, but the bivvie itself was the perfect one for me. Haven't had chance to try out the new one yet, but here's hoping it's alright. I fit a Benchmark X in ok and all my stuff.

On the whole, it's a really nice system.

I was going to get the new hide XL but keeps being delayed and the couple of shops I've asked won't receive them till at least May and stock is low. I ended up going for the new fox frontier (I know this isn't a brolly). With all the add ons with groundsheets and infills the prices were similar. Hopefully your hide and my frontier will both be fab!

The new Titan Hide Camo Pro looks great and having seen the standard ones both hide and hide XL would seriously urge you to think wisely between the two.

It’s the same size, although it’s back leg definitely protrudes a bit more, and an extended peak, there is also a head lining second skin but I haven’t noticed a loss in height, but I’m a tiny person

I bought myself a Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly system just before the first lockdown last year.

I absolutely love it, can use it as just a brolly with stormpoles, or with the rigid front poles, or stick the front extension on it.
It is dark inside, by that I mean, it is not just a thin skin green material over spokes, it is a decent skin.

How do you the new one size wise compared to the old one? Mainly across the back end to end here bedchair would go?

100% correct as you say large family camping tents are often 2000 to 3000HH

and you get these nutters confusing heavy condensation with leaking and reproof every year

I have bivvies 16 years old with 5000 hh and never leaked provided they are kept clean using nothing more than warm water they dont leak unless there is a fault hole etc #pointlesswasteof -fabsil

Don’t get too caught up with the hydrostatic head figures, some top camping brand tents tend to only be around 3,000 HH. All those mentioned here will be plenty waterproof, go with the one you like best

Get a trakker tempest 100t it’s perfect and with the skull cap wrap the perfect bivvy for me, I’ve had a few over the years and this is by far my favourite

I had the avid hq brolly, i had a problem with its weight although the quality seemed outstanding also the fabric is top notch. It was just to heavy for my liking as i think with a brolly u would want practicality and mobility with fast assembly.
After that i had the sonik axs bivvy it is really fast to erect and the materials are really good it does not let alot of light in, was on the light side as well, got a good price for it as well not sure if they amped the prices up nowadays.
