I can guarantee that what you saw was not going into mad bait own boilies. They roll alot of bait for other companies to their specific recipes and that is probably what those ingredients were for.

They source all their ingredients from the same place as sticky and will happily tell anyone who wants to know what goes into each bait.

I've been using it exclusively this year and have by far my best season on it.

Did a few nights with a mate last week and he had the big common from welly out on it.
Not sure if it was the whites or nut as he mixed the two.
Worked for him.

I just see it as some sort of karma to our prey, capture without doubt (to me at least) causes pain, trauma and stress so anything we can do to negate that such as aiding the fishes recovery is a bonus and this in turn helps me sleep a tiny bit better at night.
I find modern day bait companies are basically the same as fast food and junk food suppliers, advertise the hell out of it, maximise profits and turn a blind eye to the consequences of such practices....

I can’t speak for the anglers mentioned, but plenty of household name anglers are lured by bait companies, whether it’s cash or free bait or both I don’t know, but when push comes to shove they don’t seem too loyal to their respective companies and will chop and change at will. Obviously they need to have confidence in the bait they are using, but it’s amazing how many of them always seem to fish a “special” over the top of their companies freebies!!

Great post and it would seem that we come from a very similar background as I was a huge nutrabaits fan, 1st using bfm and then biollix and 4 seasons.. 3 top quality mixes that caught everywhere it went. Long may we continue to reap the rewards of a well thought out bait that does the fish a lot of good, after all as you say we owe them that.

Seeing as it was myself that started all this controversy, and agreeing with the latest comments... I thought I’d better cover myself, I’m a dyed in the wool, pure, quality base mix guy.... I like to feel that the feed I give them some way makes up for sticking a great big hook in their gobs!!
I was fortunate enough to use Nutrabaits Hi Nu Val just before release and continued to use it along with other products in the range for a good few years, I then had a spell with the stunning Grange CSL and then went on to Premiers Aminos in the mid 90’s and still use it to this day.
Unfortunately most baits now are hawked to the masses via advertising and sponsorship, with the aim of maximum profit and with very little thought to the benefit that the carp may derive from it. It may be an old fashioned view but I’ll stick with it, I’ll reiterate the Mad bait I’ve seen I wouldn’t use on principle, your mileage may vary as they say. Use what you are confident in obviously but rather than thinking how much per kilo, consider the gains your quarry will benefit from it in the long run.

I just think that your comments are what anyone who is particular and/or passionate about their bait of choice being right and fresh, would like to know, myself included. So I understand your dilemma perfectly.

I think some people are now going down the best quality you can get, use a bit less freebies, buy little and often mindset, that fresh is a better route over a season rather than mass marketed bargin bait at a good price.

sound chat & conversation indeed

There are a few exceptions to the rule, so I see it as confident pitch, and Good customer service in my eyes, that Mad baits are offering interested, possible new customers to watch them roll the bait up in front of people, you can get a very good idea on quality control from a personal visit and a chat.

That's a fair point and maybe I should retract my comments and I'm sure I would if I had 1st hand experience of the operation.

Your point about nutrabaits is well made, and I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole nowadays, preferring to source my own ings from the best suppliers I can find

On a side note, it's nice to resolve a conversation with a bit of chat and a friendly outcome rather than the usual "where's your proof" kind of comments and a general attack on others who see things a little differently.

Personal bait Experience isn't a bad thing when you have a certain preference, or confidence in a well made bait, wether it is a milk protein, Fishmeal, Nut based, birdfood, yeast based, You know if it is decent mix or not.

Some Favourite ingredients have been consistant, or have changed, or been banned due to silly EU regulations, many bait companies have fallen by the wayside over the years, but nowadays with some, but not all, it is all about marketing & social media likes, and machine rollability, than the ACTUAL QUALITY of the bait being used.
Look what happened to Baitcraft, and also Nutrabaits after Big Bill left. People notice changes, and don't swallow the BS and leave in their droves.

There are a few exceptions to the rule, so I see it as confident pitch, and Good customer service in my eyes, that Mad baits are offering interested, possible new customers to watch them roll the bait up in front of people, you can get a very good idea on quality control from a personal visit and a chat.

Maybe that's my problem, still harking back to the old days when a basemix was a whole lot different.

You are correct in that I don't know the ratios and perhaps that was a little underhanded to say and I guess that a lot of successful bait firms are using the same model so to single one out is a bit wrong. Maybe I should have said that all modern fb based bait firms are imo rubbish lol...

There I go again, dreaming of days when Robin red used to stain everything and a fm bait used to stink of it rather than having just a faint whiff..

Should I retract my comments, nah I think il just keep rolling my baits and crack on.
