Shrink wrap is your best bet with chats by far, but don't pay the massive mark up on Korda stuff which is ridiculous. Search on Ebay.. Seller is fullspeedit.... You can buy long lengths of the stuff for far less.

I will enjoy myself I am sure of it but im putting some real effort into catching for sure.
The lake supposedley has 30cm of silt, so im going to start off with a 20/30cm semi stiff hooklink on a leadclip. Then if I get tangled, il switch over to a hel setup, with a ronnie, KD rig or something with flurocarbon. I have 2 pairs of colourd tights rdy for it aswel as hard hookbaits.

Im just going to keep it and see how I get on.

Thanks for the replies, apreciate it

Keep the Atlantic heat and buy some hard hookbaits and just cover them in tights or korda shrink wrap and just recast before dark and it should be fine. As an alternative hookbait fish tigers and plastic corn on one rod and they won't bother with it as much tight lines

you catch them on most things buddy so don't over worry about it.

Just take some real hard hookers, arma mesh, some tigers and some plastic baits.

They can play havoc with your rig presentation, so use simple rigs that re-set well and the unsharpened hooks incase they are turning the point over if you are over gravel.

Most importantly, just go and enjoy

I’m not sure about the fishmeal and chat
We fished margot about 5 years ago where they had a chat explosion - took 2 ton of them out and also crays
I was fishing with a nut based boilie 20mm and it lasted 4 hours before being totally eaten
Tiger nuts were the order of the day and was catching ok with them but wanted a spot closer in and to try to fish boilie on= had 30 kg with me
I then tried the mainline spicy crab in shelf life - had 10 kg of it with me
They would last 12 hours no problem. - back onto the nut boilie and 4 hours max
I started to catch on it and ended up with more of the spicy crab than the tiger nuts
I have since used the spicy crab on other french lakes with similar problems - 3 different lakes and all have had the same results the boilie lasts 3 times longer than any other boilie
I don’t know if it’s the flavour or the shelf life ingredients but I now always take at least 5 kg with me
The only lake it did not work at was dream lakes - cell or nut based is required
I would definitely take the shrink wrap or tights no matter what boilie you take

I am doing my 1st French trip late August and have made a mistake with my order.

I purchased 20kg of Baitworks Atlantic Heat which is fishmeal based

After some research I realised the lake im fishing has Poisson Chat in and learnt also they love fishmeal based boilie.

Would you return the Atlantic Heat and get Royal Marine instead? I feel like a right plum
