Oh OK thats not bad at all, I might need to find some more anglers though as there's only 5 of us,

😲 That's quit some weight loss, hopefully it'll start to put it back on again now angling has resumed.

Thanks gents.

Yeah it was reggie that would have a go if you were not careful - I've had rotties myself so never really bothered me because I would just push them away if I went on the other side of the fence.

I think its about £2100 for a week exclusive but may be different now. Best with 6-7 fishing it imo - less then that and they will push off the pressure... more then that and someone is in a bad area.

Biggun came out last week at 56lb apparently - down 20lb since it was last out. Either spawned hard, been towing a rig or missing the boilies from this years anglers to much.

what's the price for an exclusive week?

Not a clue I used to give Frank 100 euros a trip, we had it cheap as we used to take him stuff out to the lake quite regular boilies and food for the freezers, only really stopped fishing there as he fell out with my mate who was the one taking everything for him, also did quite a bit of work there we put the fence originally from the lodge down to the lake and then from the corner across to the perimeter fence to contain the dogs, people used to get a bit nervous when they saw the size of Dozzer and 3 other Rotties around the place but to be fair it was just one of the pups Reggie I think it was that you wouldn't turn your back on.

He doesn't have the rotties any more - has a Husky and French mastiff. But they are kept in his house behind fences all week so you hardly see them.

And now they have a separate hut for the cooking, so no dogs get in there (not in the weeks I have fished anyway) and neither of them smoke or drink anymore. Food is basic but wholesome and you wont feel hungry all week as its proper portions.

Agree with the Cat issue - When we first went there was a lot of bigguns. He started to take any out that were over 60lb and its helped a lot, the flip side being that more smaller fish are making it through into the 20lb bracket. which is why I think the biggun's are in there still but you have more chance of getting a 20 these days. (as last post said when I first went I think the smallest fish in a week was still above 30lb)

He doesn't let any Dutch on much anymore, they caused to much problems from what he said. We have one on our first year who shipped a baitboat through two of our swims when he was blanking and people were catching. TBF frank put him in his place for us. Since then we have fished week exclusives.

Swirly not is around Mid 70's goes up to 80's at right time of year. Long common is MIA - got to mid 70's but not seen for a few years.

Got a mate on there this week and we have booked in for next year again

Thanks both for your thorough replies it's most appreciated. Sounds pretty good then as long as you don't get savaged buy a rottie lol, I wouldn't have food package any way as I don't like to eat a lot when I'm fishing so to save on toilet trips 😂 out of interest what's the price for an exclusive week?

Used to fish it a lot when it was Lac Sebastian and when it changed to Le Fearne's, had a good head of 40's and 50's back then and Swirly and the long common were the biggest fish with the LC a high 50 or low 60lber at the right time and Swirly (the lake record common) used to come out between 63/67lb according to the time of year which is the one at 80lb+ now, there were far too many cats in there and when they were active they were a pain the biggest one I landed was 85lb and about 30 in a week , there was one stupid sturgeon used to be just over 50lb had that no end of times.

Frank kept Rottweilers Dozzer and Lola then went and got two young pups Ronnie and Reggie, it was fine when it was just Dozzer and Lola which I would imagine are long gone now but when he had the 4 of them especially the younger pups they were a pain and the one was a bit sketchy.

Food wise, I wouldn't eat it, used to be sat in the lodge watching the dogs mouthing the bags of tatters and onions and anything else that was stored on the hooks around the kitchen or watch Frank or Fearne (cause lets be honest whilst a lovely lady was no looker) scratching their balls then slapping a lovely Bookers rasher or two of bacon in the pan with a fag in one hand and a 100 a day cough, didnt entise me much to eat it.

I haven't fished the lake in a longtime now, the standard and size of the stock has definitely altered from what I have heard, you were hard pushed to catch a carp at less than 35lb at one time it was always a good lake to me and caught plenty of fish over 50lb from there upto 57lb over various trips, Frank's place was always the same as it saw plenty sometimes 100's of kilos of bait a week especially when the Dutch were on the week before, I would fish bags the first half the week and just watch the carp dusting up on the bait from the previous week, I caught a few first night 50lb+ carp and plenty of others whilst casting bags to coloured patches of water within minutes of putting the rods out.

Good lake at the time no idea what it's like now.

I have fished it for last 6 years... Good stock, mainly commons upto 80lb.

Think Frank said it has 10x60's & 30x50's and a raft of 40's & 30's... Ive landed the big one for other people 3 times so can confirm its definitely in there... haha.

I have found its been more difficult and less prolific as the years have gone by but it has been fully booked for nearly all of the last 3 so the pressure will cause this. Also a lot more 20's in there which have grown on in the last few years... you do get a lower stamp of fish overall but still I've never seen a week where at least a 50 hasn't been caught. And I think in total for 6 anglers the lowest has been 30 fish in a week with everyone catching.

Good food package and if you are a competent angler they will pretty much leave you to it.

Frank is a good laugh and does know his stuff about the lake, always tells you how its fishing. He will say give em some bait and tbh its the best way to do it... I have always had success going in with boilie and a lot of it, sticking 5kg a day onto a spot and fishing all 3 rods to it.

I know his wife Ferne has been quite ill lately and in hospital a lot, as such I don't think they will have had time to do a lot of the admin side and replying to people etc. As those who know Frank will probably agree its replying to emails and call probably isn't his best attribute

Sounds like it's a regular thing then, them not getting back to people, maybe they have enough repeat customers that they don't need new ones, but it does look spot on and some stunning big commons like you say 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 someone knows something

I was recommended this lake by an angler I’ve met on my french trips. He said some lovely big commons in there and he has had a lot of fish from the venue fishing towards the island

However I have tried to contact them about prices and availability and had no response several times

Would be great to know how to get a response from the owner. If anyone knows please enlighten me
