Your last sentence...
“Can I see some ID?”.
“Sorry pal, you’re over age for those rods”.

I was on the Angling Direct website yesterday and noticed they were doing a similar offer as last year.
Spend £10 in store and receive a free starter kit with whip, pole float and rig and bag of soft pellets.
I reckon you will probably have to take child in with you to claim.

A cheap whip is the best place to start. You can get set up for less than £50 including the whip, line, floats, weights etc

Any recommendations for starter kits for kids? Not specifically for carping. Just to test the waters with them. Silver fish etc
