In reply to Post #11 Fairly sure Tony only picked the best blanks from the sportex range.

In reply to Post #10 We should start a Tony Fordham appreciation thread 😂
I can't remember where I got mine , I'm sure it was a little tackle shop in Kent that one of the mods from here worked in ?

In reply to Post #8 First carp rod I bought was a Tony Fordham 11ft 2 25 su glass rod. I've still got it but it needs re-ringing. Maybe if I come into some money but at the moment it would cost more than it's worth.

In reply to Post #7 Tony Fordham is the guy that built the sportex rods the tackle box used to sell.

In reply to Post #1 I had some tony Fordham rods a few years ago that were built on sportex blanks , brilliant rods , they took ten years of very heavy abuse on the French rivers .

In reply to Post #4 I used to have those rods currently have a pair of old 2.5 12ft. Last time I looked at sportex rods they seem to be very big in Germany. Get in quick before were out of the E.U.

In reply to Post #2 They still make a huge range of rods and quite big range of carp rods. The tackle box used to sell a few models from the carp range and I also had the 12ft 2.25tc kevlars but no way were they 2.25tc, they were casting tools.

In reply to Post #1 I've not used that particular Sportex blank. But I had a set of Sportex carbon kevlar a few years back and a nicer set of rods I am yet to find. Cant go wrong with a Sportex rod in my opinion. Would love another set probably a bit more stepped up than my 2 ,1/4lb test. But they seemed to of disappeared of the rader and hard to find. Where you possibly getting your rods from if you dont mind me asking.

Hi
I'm currently in the market for some new rods. It's a toss up between the sportex invictus rods or Terry hearn classic 40mm.
Has anyone had any experience with the sportex rods?
