The clear blue shallow water made it fairly easy to see the fish in Arthers pool. Saw a lot, seen and heard Carp throughout my time there last year. My friend and I witnessing many Pike but we didn’t see any silver fish was a main concern of hours. We didn’t even see a ripple at last light for the 3 nights we were of a Roach or other prey fish. Not sure what they would have had for food to survive. They advertised large Carp and late Pike. The site manager said to us over our stay “if I could tag and put a radar on the 50s to prove they were in there I would!l She said they would go Facebook live when netting the lake in January to prove the 50s are in there. This hasn’t happened and an already small lake is even smaller now with the new cabins built round it. Was a nice enough place so make up so many lies to get people to come stay at your business, hard to understand as this is the only bad experience I have had at a fishery in over 20 years off fishing.

Didn't that end up in a different lake? Pretty sure it did.

Westmoor specimen lake is close by, a far better option, plenty of 20s and well run.

Anyone recently fished there? Very disappointing when I went, no bait shop just a couple of shelves with a few kg bags of boilies and bags of pellets all pretty bright colours but when my mate brought some when we got there we realised they had no smell, flavour and probably no nutritional value for the carp. Lake a lot smaller than they state on website. Less pegs than stated as one peg is the owners personal peg. Alge killer had died the water very blue like too much had been used. A regular told us it had been like that since May. WiFi didn’t work, some peg lights were out and needed bulbs changing to name a few grievances. My mate had a 28lb Mirror that was a beauty. Questionable weather the 2 50lbers are in the lake, the manager of the site had said that they were netting the lake in January and was gonna do it live on Facebook to prove the 50s were in there cos so many people claim that they aren’t. This hasn’t been done but now they have made the lake even small by building cabins like on the other lakes which a built above the water in the margins. Don’t get me wrong nice well kept caravan site in a nice part of the country but what they claim about Arthers Pool bends the truth and isn’t exactly what they claim it is. Personally I would never visit the place again but was wanting to know others experiences of the place

It’s rather small but nice and clean and there’s electric in the swims, and the food they deliver is very good.

I’m fishing there this coming Sunday, I have fished it before for a few days but there was only 1 fish came out, not including the 5lb common I had, so I can’t really help you with tactics. I would imagine it’s seen everything,

So just do what you are confident in, if I have any joy or can give you better info next week then I will

Been persuaded by a mate for a trip here in a few weeks time, can’t find anything of any help online about the place, anyone got any info and/tips for the place? Not looking for you to catch for me but looking for a head start for when I arrive there. TIA, pm if preferred 👍
