Only caught a snippet on the news but I did hear the phrase that in successive 'democratic votes and elections' the government had 'actively avoided investigating claims of Russian interference' ...

Oh dear....

Great watch on the Iraq war. Itís called Once upon a time In Iraq if anybody is interested. You can see part 1 on the BBC I player.

Shows the true reflection of war told through several people who were on the arse end of it, from victims to special forces and a whole variation of people, a little disturbing really

Very good program

Another shabby episode from Johnson with his attempt to rig the influential and supposedly independent Intelligence and Security Committee Chair. Putting his flunky fall guy Chris Grayling as the chair back fired when Ian Lewis voted for himself Subsequently getting booted out of the Tory Parliamentary Party.
You couldn't make it up

Robert Maxwell's daughter, friend of prince Andrew, and general nonce-assistant ....

Her name is pronounced 'Jizz-Lane' surely?

Bloody MSM are making up all sorts of alternatives.

The Lancet article gives all the factors used and blurb but is a heavy read.

The study conclusion is a global population collapse within 80 year's. Acute in certain countries, not a gradual decline.

However it pans out most of us won't be here to witness it. Future generations will see the changes gradually so it will be just a part of life for them.

I do find it difficult to believe that Italy figure though,

Yeah, this.

Quotes from the "experts":
"To be successful we need a fundamental rethink of global politics.
"The distribution of working-age populations will be crucial to whether humanity prospers or withers."
Wowzers.

@Mal, Children of Men is an incredible film

Yep, instead of points systems for immigration countries will be offering incentives for working age migrants. Who pays taxes to care for the huge old age population, who cares for them even. AI and robotics will have to take lots of jobs that populations can't fill etc. Sub Saharan Africa population will treble over this time so that's where your working population will come from. Putting incentives in place for people to have more children is a tricky proposition and bound to face opposition as does immigration.

now I'm intrigued...

what are you expecting? ageing population? more draw on resources to care for them?

genuinely asking

puts me in mind of the film 'Children of Men' (Clive Owen) - takes it to the nth degree. A REALLY good film
