In reply to Post #1 In no particular order. first humans leaving Africa to populate the planet, invention of the wheel, combustion engine, flight, penicillin, sterilisation/surgical advances, farming and improvements in the safety of childbirth.
All essential, unlike the unnecessary deaths of civilians and soldiers or introduction of social media

In reply to Post #1 Agree. I’m 28 and have seen the advancement of technology being incredible. I remember broadband arriving and floppy disks. Really is insane when you think it’s all moved on far in the last 20yrs!!
I wouldn’t call wars ‘great’ moments. Defining moments maybe more suitable.
I’ll tell you what was probably a once in history moment I got to witness, Greece winning Euro 2004. Feels like yesterday but was 16 years ago

I was thinking tonight with all that's going on right now with CV19 and the 75 year anniversary of VE day, WW2 along with massive first's in many of our lifetimes, moon landings, music, internet, social media, electric car;s etc etc do you think you have lived in the greatest moments in mankind's history thus far?
From great granddads that were on the Somme to what i'm doing right this very second on this forum, mankind has come a very long way, all touchable in my lifetime.
