In reply to Post #48 Aaah gotcha.

In reply to Post #47 He's on about the spodcast buddy.
In reply to Post #47 They are talking about the Spodcast though I think where the interviewer is Dominic Eves
In reply to Post #42 The interviewer is Dave Elyatt - who heads up ESP and is a great angler in his own right.
In reply to Post #45 I enjoyed it a lot. Very humble, which should be expected from someone who has had his battles and learned/recovered from them.

Finally got round to watching this, good vid and seems like a nice lad. Beautiful fish and well done to him for getting through his issues and succeeding, all some people want to do is find the negative in anything but that’s an unfortunate thing that is prevalent with social media and with anyone that puts themselves out there.
Not quite a Tel vid, but enjoyable.
Hopefully his honesty will raise awareness.
The sad thing is that it’s self inflicted and the negative effects may be with him for years.
In reply to Post #35 Cheers
Pity the interviewer wouldn't stop rambling on but good listen. Anxiety is a horrible debilitating thing.

In reply to Post #38 That's life and you're right it does.

In reply to Post #37 I don’t see any negativity here, far from it. I see a lot of support and respect for the lad. Big up to him.

In reply to Post #37 Not being negative mate, just saying that I think smoking weed can effect your mental health, it did me.

In reply to Post #34 He used to fish over Walthamstow a lot and even as a very young lad he could catch them.
The lads he fished with including Sambo swimmer on here are exceptional at that style of angling.
We’re doing a night over there and Alfie would have been 14 maybe 15 and I got talking to him about smoking weed and he shrugged his shoulders and said he’d packed it in 2 years ago !
He went off to fish a swim he’d been putting some bait in and came running back an hour later claiming to have seen a ghost 😳

In reply to Post #26 Can you post a link please?
I don't really like watching fishing videos but had a watch of this and got the lad. Good angler in the making regardless of his issues, real or perceived. Understands how to hunt fish with limited time that aren't behind fences.
Proper carp the red one

In reply to Post #30 as an ex smoker, and having known many heavy smokers over the years, I have no doubt whatsoever that smoking weed in high volumes for long periods of time can have a massive effect on your mental health.
I once heard that the weed can have an effect on one’s accent.
In reply to Post #30 That damn weed has a lot to answer for.
Hung around with a lot of heavy weed smokers from a very young age probably had a lot to do with it

In reply to Post #26 for anyone to open the subject of mental well being takes a lot i have lost loved one s as a result of them not being able to talk about it and as a result i have also had few problems with this of which i have dealt with fair play it s not easy to be honest with your self

In reply to Post #22 nicely edited

In reply to Post #26 I think he came across really well, was very articulate, and to say what he said about his anxiety and depression took a lot of guts.
He is an extremely capable angler as well!
I really enjoyed it, was good to see someone young with issues sorting through them and being honest.
In reply to Post #25 He did an interview on the The Spodcast in which he was very, very open about his mental health issues. Fair play to the kid.
I thought it was very brave of him to talk about his mental health. Very hard for someone with issues to talk about them
As for that Carp at the end.. Wow absolutely stunning imho
In reply to Post #1 I didn't enjoy it. Can't explain why but I just could not get into the story at all. The fish is impressive at the end but compared to the other films ESP have put out I rank this very lowly. Maybe I just don't get the urban carping thing and that is why. Either way fair play to him, he seems quite a level-headed kid

Decent vid.
What a carp

In reply to Post #3 Very true, one to watch.

In reply to Post #14 I believe there are more and more young people suffering from some form of mental health problem be it anxiety, depression - way to much social media Nothing seems special or private very sad.
In reply to Post #14 Pressure with a carp firm? Behave, its just a bloody hobby!!! Its not like these young lads are being sent front line in afghan!!!
In reply to Post #14 I personally thought it was great and a brave thing for him to do - its a breath of fresh air from all mass manufactured carpers that are all identical.
In reply to Post #12 He was with Nash originally no? I worry about the pressure some of their young anglers seem to be put under. Carl seemed to experience some anxiety issues etc while he was there.
In reply to Post #11 Yes a bit of a letdown wasn't it?
Its on my To watch list.. Spoke to Alfie a couple of times at the shows when he 1st appeared on the scene, catching a few from the Hampstead ponds. He came across as pretty sharp but maybe a little lost in the interest that was being being shown in him by a couple of companies? Hes had some real peachy fish though
First carp video I have seen for a while that doesn’t show a kettle boiling.
Brilliant as always from ESP. goes to show you don't a need a lot to catch carp, doesn't it
beats the new age stock pond angling that seems to be a thing lately
Nice video and enjoyable. Simple fishing and better than watching the typical Korda stuff.
In reply to Post #6 Nice lad, I warm to him, young father, working and a opportunistic angler. Really weird colour fish though especially as I'm colourblind
In reply to Post #4
It’s an incredible carp.
In reply to Post #4 The story isn't just about the final result. It's about the journey, that's why I love Terry Hearn, Dave lane etc. They weave stories.
No one would watch it if it was 5 minutes of stalking and then the fish on the bank.
it took 40 mins to show he got a carp on floating bread out a small pond, that didnt get fished, its a nice fish, but the video is a bit long winded for what it is,
In reply to Post #1 A very, very capable young angler.
In reply to Post #1 Nice film, watched it earlier. Very weird coloured fish but awesome old thing.
I think I caught my first ever carp on that rig!
