In reply to Post #1640 There might be with this incident but the officers on the frontline can't win.If they are seen to be doing nothing they are useless and if they over step the mark even slightly they are suspended. When there are no police left on the streets because nobody wants to do the job anymore then crime will go through the roof

In reply to Post #1639 I thought you have to complete a fitness test and physicals to be a police officer? Surely that’s the measure of being capable to deal with the job. Then again, I see plenty of police that probably couldn’t run 10m.
Not sure ethnicity, etc has anything to do with being capable to handle the job. Could be a 10st BJJ black belt that’s capable of handling the physicality of the job. Literally just being able to do your job should be a requirement of getting a job.

In reply to Post #1638 Yeah so they didn’t investigate because they knew he acted professionally and that was proved by releasing the full footage...
They didn’t refer this incident to the IPCC for nothing. There’s clearly some element of doubt that he did not carry out his duties how he should have done.

In reply to Post #1637 Either proper training or only employ capable people
That is not feasible remember, ethnicity, disabled groups, options for all, its sad but thats the truth.

In reply to Post #1636 The public can cry wolf these days and it gets investigated. There was a video released in America by the public showing an officer pulling a woman from a stationery car.The video looked shocking and the officer looked like he had handled it very badly. The police force he worked for decided to release the full video from his patrol car and that showed the true events,he had acted professionally throughout and asked the woman over 20 times to exit the vehicle. She was swearing and being abusive throughout the whole incident

In reply to Post #1635 Yeah. See post with link below.
It’s like you said, 10st adult isn’t equipped to deal with larger people intent on doing everything to evade capture. Either proper training or only employ capable people.

In reply to Post #1634 If there was nothing wrong with what he did it wouldn’t need investigating...

In reply to Post #1632 Be nice if I did
I’m posting what I know, how about you?
You have raised a good point though, the training is extremely poor

In reply to Post #1631 If the incident is being investigated he has to be suspended whilst the investigation takes place

|

some of you might want to read this ... police code of ethics. Minimum force necessary....nothing to make the public lose trust in the police force.... a few more that this incident probably has this officer making his case for.

In reply to Post #1630 It’s brader’s world. His words.
Sorry that you know everything about everything and no one else does

In reply to Post #1628 As I said, he’s suspended so he clearly didn’t do his job properly. Otherwise he wouldn’t be. Regardless of what crimes been committed the police don’t serve the justice, they apprehend criminals so the justice can be served in a court of law. That’s how it works apparently in this country.
I already said what id do, parva, taser or sweep the legs for a takedown or a noj said, a baton to the knee to drop them. Get my fellow officer who is also there to help restrain and arrest. But then it doesn’t matter what I’d do, because it’s not about me is it.
I never said I think they get loads of training. Just that their training and guidance means they know their code of conduct which they have to follow or face disciplinary action.

In reply to Post #1629 I would give it up mate. Your out of touch with the real world, or I will say, as I know it
|
|
|
In reply to Post #1627 No no. You said it yourself. Your mate pulled you off him otherwise “it would have ended badly for my attacker”. You then claimed to know your limits (clearly not as your friend had to pull you off) and got told you were fine to do what you did (what you did until your friend pulled you off, what you would have done if your friend hadnt from what you described as ending badly, sounds as if it would have been beyond what is deemed acceptable)
All your own words. Nothing about me determining anything.
So why are you talking about your experience with a kids spoon then

In reply to Post #1623
The point is, contrary to your believes, they don’t get much training
Which is why I asked you initially, how you would deal with it?
What would you do, run off?
You know, for example, 10 stone uni student with no life experience deals with 16 stone raging nutter, yer, er, can you stop that please
What you think happens, does not happen
For the record. That **** was smack outside a police van (no respect for the law) and he decided to run across the road and chin the victim and lift him off his feet before leaving him unconscious which at that point the police intervened
