From Chairman Mal:
"Yes - actively challenge rather than passively condone.

I'd go as far as to say it's our responsibility to speak up whenever we see / hear it. Embarrass that mate who always makes the casual racist remarks. Be the annoying git who always has to point out racist language - even if it's unintentional. Educate yourself and then others as to why terms like 'half caste' and 'coloured' are offensive.....blah blah blah do as I say as I am reeeeallly clever and educated, but in reality, i'm a pratt....."

I just came back to have a browse and see the resident virtue-signalling 'fascist robot' is still trying to convince us that we are all racists and should take the knee... and that his opinions are correct and everyone else is wrong, he's even resorted to telling people how to speak and act, YUK. ...

You sir, are weird.

Read real book instead of fascist psychology for dummies, you'll grow up and realise things are NOT what they seem, and that'll mess you right up.

Yes - actively challenge rather than passively condone.

I'd go as far as to say it's our responsibility to speak up whenever we see / hear it. Embarrass that mate who always makes the casual racist remarks. Be the annoying git who always has to point out racist language - even if it's unintentional. Educate yourself and then others as to why terms like 'half caste' and 'coloured' are offensive. Teach our children to celebrate diversity rather than tolerate it. Don't shrug your shoulders and say 'it happens all the time' without calling it out when it happens around you.

It's how we can make small changes as individuals that will have that greater impact on the whole. If even just the three of us made one other person think differently about it today then that's positive. Ripples that spread.

Scozza - absolutely agreed. Treat people with respect - and show your disrespect of racist attitudes too. Football is doing good things. But still could be doing even more. Again, be annoying and when people say 'why are they still doing that knee thing'? Maybe respond with 'because the issue still exists'.

And... if someone points out a racist incident, try being comfortable with simply agreeing that it's wrong without having to say 'ah well it could happen to white people too' - because persecution and ignorance shouldn't be a competition.

Black Lives Matter has never meant that white lives don't. It's ok to simply say 'yes they do'. In the same way as supporting Macmillan Cancer research doesn't mean you think that the British Heart Foundation isn't important.

Went off one one again there, but all with positive thoughts.

Peace and love and have a good day

From an individual all we can do is treat people on face value and with respect, thatís it for me

You could also call it out when you see/hear it. Like I said from the start, if you Alienate that racist friend or family member by highlighting every time they are racist then maybe they will start to change. Defending someone in public to show them they have support.

I donít think as a society we are powerless. We hold the most power to remove racism as together as a whole enormous amount of pressure can be applied to racists and casual racism (that sort that people donít even realise they are doing) to create change. Some never will but many will. Or at least be conscious of it within themselves.

Balls - I know the world isn't perfect but that doesn't mean you should cop out of trying to make it better

This is my point all along Mal. Nobody is denying it. The fact is, unless you take some kind of political stand you are powerless to do anything about it. As long as the individual conducts themselves in a proper manner thatís all one can do. There will always be morons in this life but your right, the more it is publicised the more these morons will stand out. From an individual all we can do is treat people on face value and with respect, thatís it for me

As I see it at the moment, nobody has promoted it more than football, more than the government but to be fair, itís a good platform to start with for me

If you didn't see 'The Talk' on Ch4 tonight, it's really worth a watch. Not sensationalised, just simple stories of what it means to grow up black in the UK. I know I'm the resident snowflake BLM sympathiser, but why not have an open mind and give it a go.

Or at least since you first saw it a couple of months back on a YouTube video eh?

Of course you don't like that word. It starts with U and you only think about 'me'....

Tinhead - you have made your point and I guess the big difference for black young men is that it's probably a consideration whereas for young white men it's possibly. ... as you have said to be fair.

Sounds to me that you think we all live a perfect world where everything is fair, I wish for that world but sadly in my experience it doesnít happen.
Unfortunately if you are young travel 1st Class, or drive an expensive car you are more likely to be questioned.
If you are young wear a hoody, hang around street corners, walk the streets in the middle of night especially carrying a holdall , wear clothes with expletives blazoned on them, avoid eye contact or generally act strangely or arrogantly etc etc then you are more likely to get stopped, the older you get the less it happens.
If you are young and black then I accept this might happen more, Danny Rose has only just turned 30 which to an older person is still young and being an athlete he looks younger but itís not exclusive to blacks it can happen to young whites as well.
What I find hard to believe is a ticket inspector not checking everyoneís ticket, Iíve never been on a train where an inspector has not asked to see my ticket, they ask everyone, absolutely without question everyone. I will speculate and say maybe if you tell someone how to do their job you will not get the response you were after.

Not much more I can say so maybe this will be my last post on the matter.

But it didnít in his case and he was singled out for a ticket inspection.

What sort of white person could it apply to? Do rich white kids get the same treatment? I know Iíve never been singled out for a ticket inspection in first class travel and Donít Ďfit iní with the ďtypical first class travellerĒ

Also, why is this a thing, anyone from anywhere is allowed to buy a first class ticket, there is no dress code, so no one should be singled out for any reason. The fact you are declaring that if youíre not dressed smartly you arenít likely to be a first class traveller is ridiculous.

It needs to have burning crosses, white hoods and recorded racial slurs for Slow Bob to believe and rate as a good one, you must get that.
