In reply to Post #11 To add to the confusion, read the disclaimer on some of the match lines. Smart Stone River states "The breaking strength is purely indicative and refers to the possibility of catching fish of a similar size". Other makers use similar phrases. I expect many would have caught 20, 30 or 40lb fish on 0.28 or less, but it doesn't mean the line has a BS of 20lbs plus.

In reply to Post #7 shimano list a "UK" version on their EU page

In reply to Post #21 Didn’t Power pro used to be different bs for diameters here than the US too?
yes, I got caught out by that, ended up buying some in the US when I was there to make sure I was getting what I was actually after

In reply to Post #19 Probably a case of comparing linear against knot strength, with what knot who knows...

I remember people on here saying they had 15lb technium that was .28 or something, not realising it’s the same stuff as our 8 or 10lb rated for a different market.

In reply to Post #18 12lb for £9.99 that's a great price. Somebody on here was after some the other day but was trying to find anywhere that had it!
Edit
It was 15lb he was after

In reply to Post #18 It is odd but that's the way it's been for years now, if you look at any thread on here about the line that issue always comes up

In reply to Post #17 I agree cant see why they would need to do that, got some from total fishing tackle, should be enough to load the three reels.

In reply to Post #11 Many places are out of stock of Technium. When/if they reintroduce it maybe they'll sort it out as it can't be cost effective to produce one packaging for the UK market and another for the rest of the world?

I used the original stuff in the tin quite a few years ago. I can remember seeing all the nicks in the black line, really highlighted it. I took some of the newer stuff off a few months ago, crap imho. I can’t belive it’s the same line. The old stuff was around £30 the new stuff is dirt cheap, didn’t like it myself
Whether this is just me comparing it to Synchro XT I’m not sure but I do not belive it’s the same as the original version, happy to be wrong
