My condolences to the family and RIP to the gentleman that lost his life.

Sadly some of the forum users need to step back and look at yourselves.

Gone to the dogs this country. Comes to something that at the age of 55 you can’t help feeling that when it’s my time to go I’ll be going at the right time because there’s only one place law n order is going and that’s yet further down.

The Gentleman that died was the current President of Kingfisher Angling and Preservation Society, a club that I'm a member of. I will state he was not on one of this clubs waters at the time of the incident. A real sorry story in difficult times, I hope these people who were responsible for this get bought to justice.

Vile scum bags. Sadly this world is only getting worse, hopefully the parasites get caught and have a hammer taken to them big time, but if they do get caught I doubt very much they will get long sentence at all with our pathetic justice system.

Terrible news. It shows you always have to stay alert whilst fishing, which is hardly conducive to relaxing which is what it is all meant to be about. Poor guy and thoughts are with his family.

You mean this thread should be shut because little sanctimonious St Johnny of Fubar wants to point fingers at someone else because he's had to deal with a couple of put downs and is currently trying to blame the bogeyman. Here, have a Farleys rusk and some warm milk.
Perhaps you can start a petition against all the news outlets too.

Best.

Lockdown still getting to some clearly!

Guy's been murdered and people going about if he's actually a fisherman or not...it was a witness statement to the media which said it was a fisherman btw, if anyone has read any of the articles.

Putting up a thread on a public forum like you have trying to sensationalise the "angling" aspect isn't really on in my opinion

Good grief, how has he tried to sensationalise anything?

Take your pick:

Saying that, there is a 'news central' hub where the media get their info from. The police were all crisis actors.

You're correct to post on an angling forum, it's relevant of course.

The quote again:

"A fisherman in his 70s has died after a group of young poachers allegedly pelted him with rocks in the grounds of a 15th century castle."

Its in the national news im not trying to sensationalise anything. Seeing as this is an angling forum i thought it was relevant.

If it turns out he was walking his do then il remove this thread and put it on a dog walking forum

Only going by what the news is saying.

"A fisherman in his 70s has died after a group of young poachers allegedly pelted him with rocks in the grounds of a 15th century castle."

Either way whether he was walking his dog or fishing its terrible

"Angler killed in kent"?

I got some messages from a friend about this earlier as he lives there and there were armed police running about. He said the chap was out walking his dog, nothing to do with angling at all.

Either way it's sh*t news
