In reply to Post #1 Just use a length of your mainline. It will do the job just as well as anything else. 12" d rig with a wafter using your main line on a helicopter system job done. If you have to buy something then 20lb Amnesia clear is good for the d rig too.

In reply to Post #3 Thanks guys forgot all about mono and its cheaper too a lot of matchmen rigs are all mono and it seems good enough for them.

In reply to Post #2 It's good for when fishing on a firm clean bottom but as its quite stiff if fishing in silt where the lead will sink in it could stick up at an unnatural angle giving poor presentation.
That’s where helicopter setups play a big part. Move top bead up & the hooklink does not sit “at unnatural angles”. A soft fluorocarbon in a lower diameter is not that much stiffer than a mono of similar ilk. A 12lb mono is not going to take up the contours & sit across gaps unless it is 4foot long or more & has large amounts of putty in just the right places.

In this situation I would use a supple mono hook link, in 12lb bs if there are no snags or sharp stones etc or 15lb if there is. Hope that makes sense and good luck.

Hi just recently got into carp fishing got tackle and bait etc, Just recently joined club that has couple of carp lakes only problem is braided links are not allowed coated or uncoated.
I'm thinking of using flurocarbon is it any good i have iq2.
