Both although will only cover me if there are no travel restrictions in place, for when / if I do actually go

Anyone looking for insurance at the moment either will not find anyone providing any cover due to the travel restrictions or they will ell exclude anything corona related.

My note was just a heads up to anyone else with annual insurance, cover may still be in place if renewing (only for pre booked travel)

Do you mean it will cover the cancellation costs of your booked trip or cover you If go on the planned trips?

In case it helps anyone, because of course you all have travel insurance right

I had confirmation today from coversure insurance who use AXA. As I had an insurance policy before corona and booked before too, my insurance renewal this month will still honour last year's policy coverage for the current booked trips (booked before March 20th).

Just as well seeing as the annual cost has doubled. To be fair, it was only £18 last year

I see your point, but whether its fishing or normal holiday when would you go on holiday only after a vaccine etc?

Why go abroad
You go out having it and not realising you've got it
Day 4 the symptoms start and its bad for you
So your now in a french hospital fighting for your life due to the idiocy of wanting to go fishing
Big fat no for me

I was talking with a friend who lives in the Lot region last night , they are not allowed to travel more than 100 km without documented evidence stating reasons for doing so ,i'm not sure what is a good reason , but i don't think fishing will be high on their list !

All proposals at present. Current guidance for us remains don't travel. France has limited internal travel.
Media love to paint these things as done deals. Brussels (EU) have proposals, Greece has proposals, Austria/Germany have proposals.. Our next change, if there is to be one, is 1st June.

I was under the impression the UK and France last week agreed not to have a quarantine rule? Has this changed in the last few days?

Just been reading that the UK is changing the rules on isolation rules and that travelers from France will now have to isolate for 14 days ! Nightmare if this is the situation.

Pascale and Phil have been fantastic with their handling of this situation for their customers. So many platitudes on their Facebook page from people who have managed to rebook for next year. I am one of them who has lost out on a Woodslake trip 30th May but have secured a date for next year with absolutely no fuss or bother.

If there is any light in amongst this darkness, it's people like this who care and look after their customers. Well done Goncourt!
PS - I have no affiliations!

Copied from Dreamlakes
FB site. Not sure anyone knows!

Just seen this post from our good friends from next door on the Goncourt complex.... Pascale has been in touch with the French government, regarding French fishing and travel.. heres hoping virus levels are under control...
.. Good evening,
I have a little bit of a good news for everyone. A few days ago I have been sending a letter to our Prime Minister and I have received an answer from him today.
English people will be definitely able to travell France from the 15th of June if the COVID 19 figures don’t get worse...
I was really pleased with the prompt reply and the positive outcome. 🙏🙏🙏🍾🍾🍾 so looking forward to having the life and soul back in the complex !!!
Love to you all !!!
Pascale ❤️

Mate of mine with a lake down near Dijon which is in a red zone got a visit from the mayor yesterday and was told to keep his water closed until September.

He is only venturing out to the supermarket and says there are police parked outside every time checking that people are going through the decontamination process.

There have been no reported cases of covid in his or any neighbouring towns and they want to keep it that way, he also said that the mayor was totally bemused at the fact we had VE street parties.

French domestic tourism accounts for about 55% of the total tourism and is worth more than 8 billion euros to the economy, which is not an insignificant amount. Added to that is the fact that you don't need border controls for internal tourism and you can see why they are keen to see a return to the industry.

At the moment, when you get off the boat or shuttle you will be in Department 62 Pas-de Calais region Hauts-de France, which is a RED zone. That means travel only for Essential shopping, going to the pharmacie or going to the doctors. You are only allowed to travel 100kl if you are in a GREEN zone. Most of the North and East regions of France are in the RED zone. NO TRAVEL.

There's still a 60 mile travel limit as far as I am aware. Would you want to risk getting turned home after you had planned your trip to death (like I do!) only to lose the whole week? My trip was due 30th May and I've rebooked for next year. It hurt but less than having to drive home from a cancelled trip.

Depends where in France you live. I've seen the Gendarmes twice in 2 months and never been stopped. I would imagine if you are in or near one of the red zones it would be different.

I was due out on 6th June. I could've risked it, but decided to postpone til October.

I was told by one person that lives out there that the 100kms rule only applies to residents, but not to risk trying to get into the country.

A friend that lives there reckons the 100kms rule applies to everyone and is strictly enforced, but it wouldn't matter as I stood little chance of getting out of the port in the first place.

Glad I changed dates

Does anyone know what the requirements are currently imposed for travelling through France without stopping.

It is still restricted to essential travel. Just wondered what guys who have booked with Angling Line or other drive and survive companies have been told?
