In reply to Post #719 New to this thread but I’m listing to Quadraphenia, this is a great album but I went and saw the Who with my missus at O2 Greenwich during the quadrophonic tour and it actually sounded better live than on the album. My Missus who hadn’t heard the album before this actually said it’s the best concert she has been to and that’s from a soul girl👍🏻
Sorry if this has been mentioned before 😷

In reply to Post #719 A good double live album was one of my sisters, I think she had upgraded the Dansette to a Marconiphone music centre by then.
Humble Pie. Rockin' the Filmore……..what a voice!

In reply to Post #715 Love that Lemmy story!
yeah - Phil was brilliant
I saw the 'live' tour of the WotW album with Richard Burton hologram and live band a few years back and loved it. Justin Hayward was in it and sounded great. We missed Phil though....
I could name plenty of 'live' albums that are worth double status (Live After Death - Iron Maiden would be up there) and a lot of musicals too (Les Mis / Superstar / Miss Saigon etc.)
I'm still pitching the 'Black Album' as it was a double when I bought it

In reply to Post #717 You can try and I hope you succeed but I think it may be one of those moments in time type of thing? It was and still a big thing for many people.
One of the greatest albums of all time

In reply to Post #715 London Calling best double album ever, love it to bits still play it regularly and will do today now I've spoken about it.
Funnily enough I might skip the title track as that's what usually gets played and crash straight into
THIS
I thought War of the Words was embarrassingly awful
Still we can't all agree on everything
