In reply to Post #24 We were not happy it was so bad but had no choice but to get on with it .Playing fish at night or should I say extracting fish was scary you could hardly move the boat and it was nearly turning over stuck in the weed but eventually got to grips with it .The first fish my mate got in the arms he was moaning in the boat that it was impossible and dangerous and took forever to get over the fish and eventually ball it out .If I was offered a free trip when it was like that I would refuse it was not enjoyable at all .A few people mentioned it on the Goncourt site but we're savaged by the site bumlickers who actually had no idea how bad it was .Those in the know know exactly what I mean .Pascale's notoriously weedy lake was a breeze compared to this purely down to the type of weed that was bulging above the surface

In reply to Post #21 No we used cell which we have done really well on there but have also done well on some trips using their maize when we haven't had room to take to much bait.I would be perfectly happy just using their maize

In reply to Post #20 have heard the weed can be a problem this time of year still some good fish to be had. Did you use ther maize at all

In reply to Post #19 Yes just 2 of us went and with no one fishing it the weed had got really out of hand .It was difficult but we caught some good fish wasn't too many I can't remember exactly but we both caught the same 60lb mirror within 48 hrs and also had a mid,60 grassy .It was all boat work impossible to use the baitboat like previous trips .We used a scope and basically fished the clearest spots we could find which were very few especially in the sides .We couldn't row for the first 20 or 30 yards it was that bad but did some serious raking and Phil said they were going to sort it

In reply to Post #17 Maxime does a nice selection of bait, their choices are all on the website, but normal stuff. 3 different boilies, hemp, maize, party mix, chilli mix, hemp pellet (not sure he was going to continue with this), pellets..... All seems well prepared

In reply to Post #14 Went 4/5 years ago,4 of us fished, started of on boilies which was quite slow,
On the Tuesday was advised to feed and use their double maize (don’t know if they still sell it) but it was a great change we bagged up all week, and only used their boat to bait up with👍😎

In reply to Post #14 Yeh thers only the 3 of us fishing it so even if the arms r weeded up ther should still be space for all of us up the main body of water. Has anybody used ther boilies with the restrictions in place now regarding bait looks like best bet it to use ther own boilies they sell on site. Not long for us now praying for the 31st July

In reply to Post #10 It’s a lovely lake to fish, holds some stunners. Not as easy as it used to be but the rewards are definitely there. The weed doesn’t make it unfishable, just means you have to work a bit harder. When you get a run, just jump in the boat and land it.
Proper social lake, personally. Wouldn’t fish it with anymore than 3 people.

In reply to Post #12 Been several times over the last decade and it's changed quite a bit .It's no longer a easy water where you can expect lots of fish .It's been weedy the last few years and last year it was weedier than ever .The arms were hard work you couldn't row to land fish in it until we did some major raking .Problem was with the lockdown it had hardly been fished and the edges had got really thick .I think the average is around 10to 20 fish per week now

In reply to Post #10 Cool mate, it's a good lake but can be Peggy as also sai.
I fished it with only 2 others, 1 struggled, 1 caught really well and 1 had an average week, but we caught over 60 fish.
I know mates who have been multiple times and found the same..
I wouldn't want to fish Saule with a full host of anglers unless your sharing rods or swims
Great lake though and some really good fishing to be had, very social with great facilities

In reply to Post #10 Great social venue but can be really peggy, tho for a smallish lake. Fish do hold up in certain pegs but this changes depending on conditions. I remember the fishing really slowed down if you went out in the boat.
Warning- I was there about 14/15 years ago, so this info could be well out of date.
