This is the soya meal you are after.

In reply to Post #55 Have you tried Holland and Barrett?

In reply to Post #54 You could probably just change the cayenne pepper for normal chilli powder you get from the supermarket but as said the soya meal is the pain, will try CC Moore when I'm ordering to see if he can get any although they don't have any listed only the flour.

It was the soya meal that I found hard to buy in a small quantity. Ended up with a 25 kg sack on one occasion. The main main at c c Moore helped me out once or twice with a small quantity. The cayenne pepper was available on the high street at Julian graves but I think they have gone bust now.

Going to have a look after all this Coronavirus is over mate. Money is tight and the missis won’t appreciate 25kg sacks of animal feed turning up

In reply to Post #51 There's a few company's about mate if you google what your after, AA Baits, CC Moore and Quality baits being 3 I can think of which seem to have most things. I can't find 1 company that sells all the ingredients needed but can get it down to 2 with a bit locally sourced like belachan from Asian wholesaler. The only one I.m struggling with in a smaller quantity is the hi pro soya meal. I can only find it from an animal feed place and it's in 25Kilo sacks, enough to make over 100Kilo lol but it's only £16 so not too bad.

I might give it a go In fairness i will be trying a premade base mix for this season but on other waters where mass baiting and lots of prebaiting will be needed I simply need a lower cost bait. Being new to rolling my own bait the only thing that worries me is sourcing the right ingredients and where from.

In reply to Post #47 I was speaking from experience with this mix , having made about 400 kg a year for several years 👍 obviously not one for the purists , bug it works .

Thanks lads not going to be fishing the place for a season or two but I will take that information on board and try and include it in the mix at a later time.

In reply to Post #45 I've taken bait out the freezer, let it come to room temperature and then boiled them again but for much longer.
For some mixes it works a treat and you have hard hook baits, for some mixes it hasn't worked. Try it on 20 boilies and you will soon see.
This doesn't make them shelf life and I do coat with a mix of the liquid additives to make up for any that have been boiled out. If you add glycerine to the additives you will get a limited shelf life, certainly a week plus.

In reply to Post #37 Blood plasma will help

In reply to Post #44 Look away bait buffs 😜
Just boil your hookbaits longer ,which will harden them , then wrap your hookbait in paste .
And yes it works very well .

In reply to Post #41 blood powder can do the trick, but also egg albumine or a combo!
