Love the Cocteau Twins. Regularly see Simon Raymonde at gigs locally.

Must admit, I go fishing for some piece and quiet. I do have a radio which I play quietly to myself

Play what ever music they like on their videos for me, I tend not to watch them, there’s a top for anybody who finds them annoying

TBH I grew up in the rave seen. I just don’t get why you would want flat out dance, trance, rave, drum and bass on a fishing video, hardcore, yer know the score

Agreed, music on the Thames vid was nice. Far better to have something like that or ambient Cocteau Twins (showing age..) type stuff than the dross on most of the vids now.

The music I make for videos is minimal, even plain acoustic guitar with some strings is lovely, as long as you can hear the birds, nature and atmosphere, it works.

I'm in my mid 60's so my music isn't in any way "bangin'". I think minimal is the right term (although I am an olde prog rocker so do get rather carried away at times when not attached to video)

I agree with the comment. You have to be able to hear the sounds of the outdoors and the music must not detract from that.
It also must fit in with the scenes in the film. It can add so much.

I cant STAND the Stick/Thinking videos music, like same dark dub step gangsta cr*p hardcore drum n bass too.........some bearded bloke stiring a cup of tea in slow motion. It's just so far from the gentle spirit of our pursuit. Some banging house tune..........to a swan drifting across the water.. why?!

Passion for angling was awesome, the balance of the music, the editing, the mood of the music....perfect.

I am friends with Jenny Musketts daughter (Jenny did the PFA music) - met her on a dating app last year, very random

The music I make for videos is minimal, even plain acoustic guitar with some strings is lovely, as long as you can hear the birds, nature and atmosphere, it works.

I certainly agree I don't want to hear music when I'm fishing.

well of course we are all different
when I fishing I like to hear the silence apart from the birds singing and the clicking of the clutch the sounds of the fish jumping I dont need music if its dark I may listen to an audio book on very low so only I can hear it inside my shelter and if I watch any fishing videos I normally mute the music as some peoples idea of setting the scene music is my idea of hell lol
Edit
some of the videos I enjoy are Kevins as I like the banter and its real and the way it is
blokes enjoying there selves but when there is a fish on the music comes up drowning the real exciting ( for me) sound of the clutch as the rips line off so I just hit the mute button lol

You say that Gerry but any video/film without some kind of music just sounds completely flat and lacking in atmosphere imo. I understand when guys say they dislike DnB during the channel crossing (standard) but imo some kind of music is essential for setting a scene.

That’s fair enough. For me a series such as a passion for angling was superb viewing and the music added to that when setting the scene.

Hi, thanks for the offer but it’s the music I’m producing not the videos.
The links didn’t work but would love to see/hear what you have done.
Could anyone repost the links please?
Thanks again and look forward to watching them!

Some of us (like me) compose our own or use stuff from my audio library.

My videos are only personal anyway - a log of every session (since 2010 on video) bundled in months. I have every daylight take and run since 2012 on video (about 9 of them :-) )

You could check out Envato LINK

Although I have to work over the next few weeks I’m going to have a bit more time on my hands so am going to produce some cinematic tracks which could suit fishing videos. Does anyone know where most go for tracks for their videos? Is it mainly licensing sites? If it is then does anyone know the popular sites?
