In reply to Post #6 Yeah I picked up on that, and salt is removed during evaporation.

In reply to Post #8 John does discuss this.
I’ve fished sandwich which had fresh and sea fish co-inhabiting.

Won’t go in to this again on this forum but freshwater fish can tolerate brackish water. To create any sort of increase in salinity that becomes detrimental to fish health you’d need to be putting in tonnes of salt per lake.
What the sorry is with salt is the fact large piles of it will kill the invertebrates and plants under or around it creating a ‘dead zone’ for a period of time until it gets turned over and growth starts on it again.

In reply to Post #1 Only one nit pick he says salt will take months to evaporate - water evaporates, salt doesnt.
So dont add salt to particles to make them pva proof then?

A great read and very important IMHO
When we are able to get back onto the banks please consider how we move forward.
I’ve actually found unadulterated Hemp to be the best method of baiting and shows the best most instant reaction. Having played with variants of it during the last few years less is more.
It has its place GLM and Betaine confirmed that to me 20 years ago however use it sparingly and have no doubt water craft is the best option.
