It's such a fluid situation that nobody knows what's happening next week, never mind December!

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france/entry-requirements

Update overnight on requirements to enter France, you now need to complete the Attestation and although it's not clear, it might be that these restrictions are in place till the end of Dec 2020.

It might be that the passport requirements are in place till the end of 2020 but if it does actually require an attestation till the end of 2020 then that's all fishing holidays cancelled till the end of 2020.

Obviously this could impact fisheries heavily but then they should have adequate insurance and they may be getting compensated by the French Government.

Entry requirements
The information on this page covers the most common types of travel and reflects the UK government’s understanding of the rules currently in place. Unless otherwise stated, this information is for travellers using a full ‘British Citizen’ passport.

The authorities in the country or territory you’re travelling to are responsible for setting and enforcing the rules for entry. If you’re unclear about any aspect of the entry requirements, or you need further reassurance, you’ll need to contact the embassy, high commission or consulate of the country or territory you’re travelling to.

You should also consider checking with your transport provider or travel company to make sure your passport and other travel documents meet their requirements.

Anyone making a journey to an airport, port or train station in order to return to the UK will need to download and complete an “attestation” or declaration certifying their reason for travel. This is available on the French Ministry of Interior website. Please note that you are permitted to hand write and sign a similar declaration if you are unable to access printing facilities. You can carry a physical copy of the declaration or an electronic version. This e-attestation is available on the Ministry of Interior webpage.

On 6 April 2020, the French authorities introduced a separate requirement to provide a certificate or “attestation” to enter mainland France.

Passport validity
Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay; you don’t need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this.

The rules on travel will stay the same until 31 December 2020.

Nobody knows what is going to happen with this virus everyone needs to take it day by day nothing more frustrating than being told you cant go fishing but we all need to stay safe so we can one day return to the sport we love
Hopefully this will.only last till end of june and we can all get back to some sort of normality.

Nobody said it would be locked down until October, what he said was travel restrictions between borders could still be in place until October. Lock down is until the schools go back in May.

No chance France will be locked down till October. Their already creaking economy wouldn't survive.

Edouard PHILIPPE announced last night that travel restrictions across borders could last until the end of October.
Also School holidays officially start today and finish the 4th May. He has extended the travel ban to cover this period so no holidays. Official date for ban to end is the 15th April but will be extended.

We have a house in SW France and flights booked for Easter (now cancelled), May, July, August and October. God knows how many of those trips will be cancelled, at least it gives the Carp a chance!!!
