Sounds like the French are doing a tit for tat 14 day quarantine. Not surprising, but 100pc rules out June fishing holiday.

You mean the scientists working for the government. 0.25% chance of contracting the virus.

I feel the same way I was due out 13th June but moved travel to the 15th which would have been fine if the French allowed travel. A friend asked me last night did I really want to travel to France , my response was I would more then likely catch it over here sat on a beach with half naked people or going to the supermarket then I would sitting in my van getting there then sat on lake with one other person.

This is going to stop any french travel as it looks like france are going to make uk travellers quarantine for 2 weeks on arrival and as we cannot provide an address we will be either put in hotel or turned back I am due out in 6 weeks os hopefully the virus rate drop enough for us to go or they introduce this air bridging what amazes me is the seasonal workers like strawberry pickers are exempt what's that all.about, that's it I am going strawberry picking in france
We must control this virus but allowing people to travel unlimited distances as only made a complete joke of this situation you only got to look at beaches parks and other beauty spots
And we not allowed to sit on our own next to a lake in france
Rant over

33000 deaths isn't scare mongering, if we had not had a lockdown the scientists (you know, people that learnt and studied virology) think we may have had 500000 deaths due to Covid 19 with the NHS overwhelmed.

Do you think the whole pandemic is a plan to control the people? The NHS response and nightingale hospitals a scam to control you as well?

I wouldn’t worry about it ... it’s completetly and utterly un enforceable ! And the government know this . Who do you think would possibly do the “ supposed “ follow up checks ? The police ? The birder force ? Traffic wardens ,,,!,
They are making a big song and dance over this is an effort to continue their control over the population by scare mongering .. as they have done all along ... they’ve already hinted that the reacation and objections from the airlines , ferries , Tunnel etc is so massive that the whole suggestion is under immediate review ...
Boris said a few weeks agai that “ the government would make every effort to prop up the UKs tourist industry “ and I guess this is it !, ... Go outdoors announced yesterday an 460 % increase in camping gear sales over this time last year ! ..
Yep , the government is helping the local tourism industry alright - by scaring everyone to stay in the U.K. !

Its a complete joke. If anything people should be stopping us from going into their countries, every day our rates are much higher then the rest of Europe. When asked yesterday why they didn't do this from the start when thousands of people were still coming into the country the response was it would not have made a difference.

We're due to go to Limoges on 20th June so in a similar boat to yourself.
Haven't booked the tunnel yet but will soon start planning kit etc.
I think if the UK and French figures drop then we've got a fair chance of going.

I’ve got a tunnel crossing 15th June AM having moved it from this evening (FFS). The 15th is the day I think the French border reopens. I’m happy to self quarantine on the way back, but not sure if France is making people quarantine their side after the 15th? Obvs pointless if they are, but read conflicting things on web. Other issue is UK lifting non essential travel, but fingers crossed for something in second phase / 1st June onwards.

Anyone else looking to travel at first opportunity?

The UK 2 week quarantine requirement if kept in place has just stopped most foreign fishing holidays.

Yep, a few will go ahead, retired people, home workers, those able/willing to make a 1 week trip a 3 week period with the 2 weeks at home after the fishing in self quarantine.

Maybe the new rise in home working will help bookings?

Fingers crossed UK and France Covid 19 cases continue to reduce and France get an exemption like other countries will low Covid 19 cases as talked about today
