In reply to Post #348 Hopefully we’ll hear from the FCO this week with more advise on the quarantine restrictions and when we’ll expect them to be lifted in the UK..

In reply to Post #347 More from Connextion.
The law on extending the state of health emergency to July, currently being debated by Parliament, includes the possibility of requiring any person entering the country to go into quarantine. At present this is not expected to include arrivals from EU countries or the UK but this has not been ruled out.

In reply to Post #346 How I read it is mandatory if you have symptoms its voluntary if you dont
This is taken from connextion in France
The general rule: Voluntary quarantine (obligatory in case of symptoms)

In reply to Post #345 Correct. We are in the same boat with an italy trip planned for 25th June. The next major decision date is 15th, hopefully Boris will buck up and bin the quarrantine so the eu can reciprocate

So if I'm reading this right the French quarantine is going to be mandatory rather than voluntary now for us if we visit.
That completely screws any chance of going on a week's trip to a lake in Limoges in 3 weeks time unless the UK changes its plan before then....

In reply to Post #342 Just dont tell company you going abroad as they will force you quarantine if you tell them lol

This is rather tongue in cheek but you can avoid the uk quarrantine if you fly from paris to dublin, then dublin to the uk. Nuts or what? But if you are really desperate............

In reply to Post #340 If the UK enforces a 14 day quarantine policy then France will enforce the same :
"France will impose a reciprocal quarantine on nationals arriving in France that impose quarantine on French citizens."
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52781812
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/05/23/france-threatens-retaliate-british-quarantine-measures/
The only way we'll be going to France is either for 3 weeks (including 2 weeks at a single indoor location) or by the UK lifting the restrictions.
The voluntary quarantine is only for "returning French citizens and permanent residents arriving from outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, which includes the U.K. and Switzerland":
https://www.politico.eu/article/france-to-introduce-voluntary-14-day-quarantine-for-some-travelers/
Hopefully, the government see sense and remove the 14 day quarantine. I know the Travel Industry is putting a lot of pressure on the government, but I can't see any changes being made until mid July at the earliest.
Hope I'm wrong...

In reply to Post #339 Latest info below. I wouldn't worry about UK quarentine. The rules are a mess and no one will follow them anyway.

In reply to Post #337 Stay there in France until the isolation rules have been scrapped, my guess will be that will be 3 weeks after they are officially in place. I am off golfing in Spain on 5th July and no plans to go into self isolation when I return, thanks Dom, all is clear now!

In reply to Post #337 I don't know any way around it but my question is how is anyone going to know if you have isolated or not.
