Looks good. I don't like soya personally in baits, so I'd change to 10% each of semo and Lamlac, which will give a nice creamy taste.

I think I would drop the soya by. 5% and replace with egg albumin otherwise think it's fine.

10% gluten will make the baits like squash balls.

Had a rethink, what about something like this?

20% HT soya
20% Acid casein
20% WPC 80
20% Orlux gold patee birdfood
10% Whey hydro
10% Brocacel yeast

I’ve obviously dropped the rennet casein, would this be advisable or should I have half rennet, half acid?

That will end up boiling very hard with the casein and maize. Won't be that digestable either. I would add some birdfood and yeast and drop the maize.

As regards birdfoods without fishmeal, have a look at the Orlux range... There's a good site called Garden Feathers that sells some good feeds.

ToIt's been years since I have used a milk protein based bait but some things you might consider.

Back in the day we used to try to minimise the boiling time. To do this we added aboy 5% egg albumin to quickly skin the baits. I would reduce the wpc to include this.

For me the mix has no fatty ingredients and might be hard to roll, suggested ingredients are full fat soya four, nut meal or a calf milk replacer. I would reduce both the wpc and maize to make way for this.

Personally I would add a quality yeast product and some liver to vary the attraction signals from the bait and some spices to add taste, I used to use a tandoori masala ready mixed spices in milk protein baits, it seemed to work ok.

Or some advice on this recipe:

20% acid casein
20% rennet casein
10% whey hydro
25% wpc 80
25% maize meal?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Evening all.
I'm looking for a simple milk protein recipe with minimal ingredients that addresses nutritional requirements.
I would also like suggestions for an ingredient in this mix that would bring coarseness and texture without adding fish ingredients as a lot of the birdfood ingredients i can find have contained fishmeal in some ratio or cod liver oil.
Thank you Beep.
