In reply to Post #1 Oyster or Fish Sauce, you can pick it up in most supermarkets, a fraction of the price and well worth a try.

In reply to Post #16 There are a few UK companies selling it, and I am certain there will be many more before long! Have a look around.

In reply to Post #13 For the price and what I want it for I think the fish sauce is defo the way to go

In reply to Post #12 Just had a look at the plankton hydro liquid. It looks alright but like you say when you take in the cost of postage etc is it worth it. Probably not.
Just ordered a few bottles of fish sauce

In reply to Post #11 Prob is, again, it's very expensive, especially when shipping is included!

In reply to Post #10 Thanks Ken I will have to take a look at this

There are several bait firms now extolling the virtues of Plankton Hydro. I have only used it a couple of times and it seemed to work fairly quickly. I used it diluted with warm water as a revitaliser liquid. (Well that's what I am calling it anyway! others will call it a booster or an inducer or some such nonsense!)

In reply to Post #8 I took a look at the shrimp extract and didn't like the fact it's made from just the heads and tails and not the whole shrimp and as I already like to use belachan I thought it wouldn't make that much difference. It's a shame there's no more decent krill hydrolysate about cos that mixed with belachan and vecon is a real winner

In reply to Post #6 the soluble shrimp extract they do might be worth a look. stinks to high heaven, isn't that thin though.

Chris Haswell rated the tuna stuff big time.

In reply to Post #5 In general I get a lot of my stuff from bacarel Express. The tuna hydrolysate is good stuff and does go well when mixed 50/50 with belachan block.
I was looking for something to thin down my belachan and vecon mix to make it more of a runny paste and thought the crab extract would add something to it but for the price I dont think its worth it.
So will probably just use a bit of fish sauce

In reply to Post #4 Bacarel express oils and extracts are superb. No carp tax, super fast delivery and as before, the tuna extract is great as is their salmon oil.

In reply to Post #1 I've found the tuna extract very effective in spod mixes and coating boilies.

In reply to Post #1 Hi Dean,
Yes.. I've seen it as a friend bought some when it first came out. It is very thin but the smell is superb in the bottle, but it seemed lacking in the finished bait. He didn't rate it that much and preferred the Krill hydro. The crab is damn expensive now, over twice what it was about 4 years ago. I used a very similar product in the early 2000's...a green crab extract liquid from Direct Foods... Again, smelt great, but LO30 was better.
For your purpose... Squid brand fish sauce is ideal.

I was just on bacarel express ordering a few bits and was having a look at the shore crab extract liquid. Has anyone ever used it and is it any good?
I usually use a bit of minamino to thin my belachan block and vecon down into a runny paste and thought I might try it instead of the minamino. Any thoughts would be most appreciated thanks
