Wow, what a great way to deal with a customer service issue. Apologie accepted, and the boss is even willing to settle the issue over a beer.

My dear life, why can't more companies be more this? The world would be a better place all together if others businesses took this approach to customer service.

Just thought I'd add my 2p's worth, having personally placed several orders in the past with DNA baits, I've got to say that the service I received was simply outstanding. There was a problem with one of them, spoke to Calum, issue resolved straight away, no fuss, no quibbles.
Keep up the good work guys and long may it continue

Leave it out. What do you think I am? Some kind of alcoholic? If you must know I drank it from a frosted glass supplied by my butler Jeeves.

Thank you very much for your reply Wayne. I think it is a case of both crossed wires and being under pressure. There is no excuse for it though as a few have said so again i do apologise for that. Make sure you come up at the next show and i'll buy you a beer.

Hi Jason

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my earlier post. Ive read your reply and it seems that any offence was unintentional and it seems more a case of perhaps crossed wires when you were under the cosh a bit. These things happen, I must admit I was a bit put out at the time as I wasnt sure what Id done to justify the response I got, but your post explains what happened and Ive got no reason to think that it was anything other than a genuine mistake, so I thank you for your apology. It takes a big person to come onto a public forum and apologise when so many other people might have either ignored it or gone on the defensive. I also think it speaks volumes that so many of your customers were quick to come to your defence and share their positive experiences of DNA.

If you happen to see me at a show, i'll have a handshake waiting for you.

all the best
wayne

I'm ordering the 50kg deal end of the month.I emailed DNA about the situation regarding the krill shortage and the answers I got and how helpful they were was superb. We all have bad moments but to hold your hands up and apologise is also showing they care about their customers.
Wayne is just over sensitive,it comes from his Napolean complex but you never know DNA might look after him if he gets in touch

I agree on that front no other company would of came on here to apologise so he has my respect for doing that. I have had my say and have no intention of bad mouthing the company I have friends who use there bait and rate it highly. However I do believe that carp Angler’s in general need to stick together and out bad service because it’s the only way to help other people out from making the same mistake. But nothing but respect for coming on and apologising

Sorry you feel like that Jim, but you are of course entitled to your opinion, which i wholly respect. Again, as with Wayne, if you want to discuss further i am always available via DM, email, phone etc. I will also speak to my show staff to see if any recall the incident to get both sides of the story, but with only one account available i will still hold my hands up and apologise. I am more than man enough to do that.

I think coming on to the forum and publicly apologising does show he cares about customer service and peoples views. It would have been very easy to not do anything, the tread will be off the front page in a few days, can't think of many other companies that would have?

Too little to late for me. Speaking to a costumer and acting in that way is completely unacceptable busy or not. you make time for people who are effectively earning you a living by buying your bait. A show is undoubtedly a busy and stressful time I get that. But your ultimately your there for a chance for people to see your company and the bait you offer. There would be no need for your excuses if you would have taken the time to speak to the bloke properly not just bark on about being unable to do a discount. I was just about to place an order as I had mates that use “sticky sweet” for there zigs but after reading this I will take my hard earned somewhere else.

Hi Wayne, one of our customers has just brought this to my attention so although i don't recall the incident , i am the boss so can only presume you are talking about myself. I can only apologise if i came across as rude. This certainly wasn't the intention and if it looked like i turned my back on you i can only presume it was because i had been in the middle of serving another customer and was in my eyes still leaving you in the capable hands of a colleague. We do get asked millions of weird and wonderful questions over the show weekends, but that's what we are there for after all and as i go round the stand i get questions regarding prices/deals etc fired at me from the guys working which can be a bit brain frazzling at times. I can only give them a straight answer and leave them to it. The staff are all more than capable of dealing with the majority of queries so i usually just pop in and out of conversations between staff and customers depending on the query. As a couple of guys have said we are absolutely flat out at these shows but of course that is still no excuse for a customer to feel they were rudely dealt with, so as said previously i can only apologise wholeheartedly for this. I personally would not want to be treated that way so you have a right to have a moan if you think you have been badly treated. We have an exemplary customer service review record over the years and this only comes from treating customers the right way consistently. This is paramount in a direct sales business such as DNA and will continue to be so. If you want to discuss this further you are welcome to drop me a DM, give me a ring at the factory or via email on sales@dnabaits.com

I agree with you. DNA sell decent bait but their product is hardly special enough to warrant treating a customer like that. There are plenty of firms offering bait on par or better that you could go to. It doesn't matter how busy you are, you don't treat customers like that.

Just what I was thinking. The DNA stand is rammed every year, they must get loads of silly requests (not saying your was blank). No excuse for poor manners but I wouldn't say they have zero interest in customer services based on 1 experience. Personally I'd bring this up with them especially as from another trade stand.

As for DNA in spring, when I fish I use S7 all year round, can't comment on anything other than Nutta S which was outfished by S7 for me on the water I was on, which isn't pressurized, but I also had the same result on day tickets so stuck with S7.

I can only talk from the experience I have had on a couple issues in the past over last 3 years using them. which Jason resolved within days of me contacting DNA. Both times they never asked me of proof of these issue just replaced the items.

Jason was also keen to understand each of the issues to make sure they weren’t repeated for others customers.

Could not recommend their service or bait highly enough.

I took delivery of my first order of DNA for spring this year, thought I’d give them a go. I’m having second thoughts after my experience at NAS. I grabbed a ten minute break on sat afternoon and wandered over to their stand to buy some 8mm or 12mm switch. They only had I think 16 and 18mm left. I was told by a helpful guy on the stand that they only take the larger sizes to shows, which is fair enough. He told me they had had a busy show and needed to go back to the factory that night to restock for Sunday and that they had small sized switch back at the factory. Perfect I said, can you ask the guys to grab me a couple of bags of shelf life whilst they are there and I will buy them off of you tomorrow.

He turned round and asked the boss, who just flat out said no I’m not doing that. His reply was along the lines of I don’t bring small sizes to shows, I can’t do you a deal on it, which by the way I hadn’t even asked for, and he turned his back on me and walked off. Even the guy serving me was embarrassed. Just about as rude, uninterested and unhelpful as he could be. I was gob smacked. If I had that attitude with a customer on the JAG stand I’d never be asked to go back.

So I’m now thinking if that’s their attitude to customers who are actually trying to buy stuff from them, what are they like to deal with if an order ever goes wrong? Cos they clearly have zero interest in customer service. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m almost hoping I don’t catch on the bait I’ve took delivery of this spring so I can sack them off almost before I’ve even started with them. Such a shame.

When visiting the Northern Angling Show, they had a great offer on bait. I was torn between the S7 and the SLK. I went for the S7, smells great, and has clearly done well on waters already. I can see myself using the S7 and SLK over the year though.

Don’t think the 12mm will hold a size 4 Ronnie up the 15mm will. Are there many 12mm that will do that other than the 11mm proper jobs?

Shelf lifes are brilliant mate. Not really much difference to the freezer ones at all tbh.

I haven't used the pop ups so was wondering the same thing? Anyone used the half tones? Just wondering how buoyant the 12mm ones are, would they hold up a size 4 Ronnie?

What are DNA pop ups like compared to buoyancy of sticky baits signatures?
And are the shelfies noticeably different from the frozen range?

Not all winters are going to be mild like this one, just a natural cycle.
I use the same baits all year and have no issues. Do I catch more than others, sometimes. Do I catch less than others, sometimes.
Some people like a winter bait and a separate Summer bait. I just use the same all year, but I don't fish nights anymore in December and January.

I used both S7 and SLK last year and caught a good number of fish on them, you can take avantage of the deals DNA do and get 10kg of each with pop ups and glug for £135 delivered. I have full confidence in this bait, whatever water I'm fishing1

I’ve been on it for about 5 years now and can’t see me changing anytime soon as they have such a great range of products. Will be worth seeing if there is a distributor in your area as you will save on the cost of your bait.

I have a local distributor, who happens to be a good mate of mine, and the prices are cheaper than the DNA website

It’s more a case of swapping over to the SLK in warmer months mate

I love the S7 and it’s done me well all year round so has been my main bait. A friend of mine took SLK to France one year in August and out fished us on S7 and Nutta. That’s not to say the fish wasn’t mostly in front of him etc but the difference was notable. I changed to the SLK in the warmer months as it’s an out and out fishmeal bait and is “my kind of bait” colour and smell wise.

It’s a confidence thing really and I like the idea of the natural, out and out fishmeal baits for the hotter parts of the year and then in the cooler months I go back to my usual S7

I haven’t got any scientific reasons for it and it’s just something I’ve found from my own fishing and I’m sure there’s people that will have the opposite opinion to me.

I’ve used the Nutta and done ok but not found it anywhere as successful as SLK and S7. Switch I just couldn’t get on with at all but at the time it was when it first came out and was fishing a really hard lake so wasn’t really a fair situation to compare it to the others. I would like to give the Switch another fair crack of the whip but with the success I’ve had with the S7 and SLK I can’t see it happening lol

The test bait on the other hand I will definitely give a good go but that’s another story

I'll be doing similar to Greg (Boo) but leaning more to the S7 throughout the year as I had alot of trouble last season with cats and was thinking that maybe the Liver in the SLK was attracting them to much ?

Just to confuse matters. I’ve just ordered the nutta-s In two sizes for spring which I’m going to mix up with 12mm switch. My waters have seen a lot of nut type baits over the years and still see a lot of manilla so that swayed my decision.

For summer I think I’m going to use slk in two sizes with 12mm s7 and a lot of they hydro spods

S7 for me. I use this bait most of the year but during the hotter months I use the SLK. The SLK is by far my favourite bait but during the winter/spring months I use S7

I know people that use SLK all year round though
