If I had the time to put into there I would definitely give it a try.Astbury is 5minutes from my front door so it is ideal

Stop tempting me, a lot closer to me now too, then again I'd have to go fishing

Nunsmere does look a bit special

Nunsmere is a bloody big water but could hold some hidden gems.I parked by the hotel and had a walk around. It was a lovely looking water but very weedy and some areas were just unfishable as the banks are that high from the water, you would need a drop net to land a fish.If Stoke on Trent anglers can get a decent runs water to get a bend in the rod, whilst Astbury is kicking my arse I would say its well worth a look. They have just added another 42 fish to Astbury,it holds cats too some huge bream, tench and pike

Funnily enough I ditched WAA to try LAC again. I liked Grey Mist but mates swapping over pegs on the far side and fishing to just the other side of my peg (where I was fishing) was enough for me. Had a couple of run ins like that, I'm not the sort to say anything, I just walked away. I did discuss it with the secretary and was advised to tackle these folks....yeah, not much pleasure in fishing that way!...but that's why there are syndis where these folk quickly get found out and binned.
LAC or WAA got a big mere last year, or was it the year before, can't remember the name but had lots of promise, Braders knows the one. (Edit, Nunsmere).

Know what you mean re Cheshire and syndis, they are there but it's all word of mouth which isn't very helpful at times, but that's the way it is. I joined one up towards preston when I lived in Timperley (was about 50 mins away) also another near Botany Bay (about 35 mins from Sale) but now I've moved to Middlewich it's a fair drive to find no pegs left...lol. Shropshire might be a better look for you but from experience they are very tight lipped, and rightly so.

I've been looking around Middlewich lately, seem to go under the radar the clubs round here. I have a friend whos lived here a few years, am due a meet up so will 'tap' him for info then.

Get on Astbury mere not and easy water at all but Stoke are really putting some time and effort into the water.Great set of lads on there and they won't tolerate idiots and pegs being stitched up

As for what's been said really. I was a member of LAC for over 10 years, enjoyed my time overall but toward the end I was fishing mid week. Lots of the waters by then were getting hammered at weekends. Still, they have some good stock to go at, especially on the newer waters and don't ignore the Dane if they still have Manor Farm.

I did rejoin 2 years ago but didn't fish, though I did take the father in law around some of the waters I knew and some I didn't. Some looked like they were in a lot worse condition than I remember them, some have changed completely, not for the better. Having said that I believe Wrinehill is very nice if it's the one they leased from Leisure U.K, was talking to David Rance about it many years ago seemed like a great project at the time.

Lymm Vale at it's height was a very special place, you could have a record Orfe or double figure Tench all in the pursuit of a Carp Then a certain someone decided they didn't like Carp anglers and decided to plant trees in the centre of some of the only swims that could take a large brolly. The same somebody would walk upto to your gear on the deep side and say 'you've made it hard to get past there for others mate' meanwhile his mates had the same set up....fun and games hey Braders

Like bradders said a lot of the better waters get very busy. I remember going to Lymm Vale mid week and couldn't even get a peg. Some waters are very clicky aswell I found. I tend to keep my self to myself but I heard some rumours that on some waters it was one in one out on the better pegs so unless you were in with the crowd you didn't stand a chance

Overstamp is so can fish some waters that have a closed season, you can do a work party instead of the payment.Got a few nice waters but get busy.Wrinehill very nice water but can get stitched up,shakerley mere busy especially rammed at weekends with one bank being full with bailiffs and mates, lymevale very nice looking water and secure.I have couple of mates on the ticket and they enjoy,I would join but prefer Astbury on the Stoke on Trent anglers ticket

Im thinking about joining the club living in mid cheshire there are quite a few of there waters quite close
im struggling to understand there pricing policy £142 to join does this include a 1st year joining fee and what does the overstamp include
overall it will cost me £214 with the overstamp and an extra £50 if I want to use a baitboat
I would be interested to hear of any members what there thoughts are on the club in general
