I have fished Esnes a cpl of years ago. After 72 fish most around 10/11 lb with the largest a common of 16lb I wasn't impressed. The videos relating to the feeding are all a blatant bending of the truth, over 3 months I seen D Bailey feed the fish 3 times once was with trout pellets. As I'm a local I know too well the info of how an over stocked over priced Pasties water isnt what you want to be spending your hard earned cash on. I made a post about this over a year ago with another account. Glad to add more light to what I would call a shambles of a syndicate...

😂 id like to get this off my chest 😂

I did already state there is a few of the originals left...not many!!!

It has Already been stated Dave Bailey has nothing to do with esnes!!

I did state there’s a few fish over 20lb but not many !!

And your telling me x2 fish stocked by Ed Matthews at 32lb and 41lb are not wrong uns ..

What is People putting a little bait in or people putting a lot of bait in got to do with the size of the lake...that is a right numpty comment

I’m glad you got what already has been said off your chest...enjoy your time over esnes pastie bashing I have much more knowledge of esnes than most people having seeing it from being quarry workings with no water to actually stocking a few fish in myself many years ago(the originals) and fishing it on and off for over 15years..I have no gripe to bear with esnes ..stunning lake just unfortunately got in the wrong hands ... the stockings wiped out several of the originals I witnessed several carp dead and also talked to other previous members that witnessed this also .....you can run along now and tell Ed Matthews you put the world to rights on the carp forum regarding esnes quarry >

I don't believe the size of a lake has any relevance to how much bait should be used in a fishing situation?

I'd like to get this off my chest as regards to esnes quarry. Theres still a few of the old originals left and had a number of fish over 20lb, yes the lake was stocked some years ago from edd Mathews and dave bailey. Dave bailey has nowt to do with esnes quarry any longer and solely runs the bowl. Having rejoined esnes I can honestly say theres a great bunch of lads that are willing to put the bait in which wasnt the case before. Most lads would only take just over a kilo of bait which isn't enough for 18acres. And as for the comment it was stocked with wrong un that is not the case at all.

Personally I’d say a big No !!
Majority of members I’ve saw join don’t last longer than 1 season
If being waken up throughout the night Catching singles and low doubles Is your thing then go for it👍🏻

just sick of paying for day tickets now and wanted a nice venue that's well ran, hopefully in a few years all the doubles that are in there now are 20's. where are the main stock in Esne from?

400 seems to be a standard price for places like that now after doing abit of research on other places!

is it worth joining if your not too fussed about the size of fish? Thanks lads

Yep decent set of lads on the bowl..however members come and go quite regular..
Some lads can’t handle the size of the place..others can’t handle the weed situation once it fully blooms it can be a mare..I think this puts a lot of the newer members off who have never fished a large lake or fished in extreme weed conditions.. this is why there is nearly always availability..it gets busy on weekends but you still have ample amount of water to fish...I tend to do a lot of mid week sessions around work..always a lot quieter..I’ve been a member now 7years and love the place...fish are piling on the pounds and plenty to go at 👍🏻

I nearly joined last year, everyone I spoke to whilst having a walk around were very friendly and seemed to like the place. If I'm honest the only thing that put me off was how it seemed too easy to join and at the time every body seemed to be paying different prices.I understand if someone has been a member years getting a cheaper ticket but even new members were paying different prices

Yep some of ed Matthews fish where stocked a few years ago and I hate to say it some are belters really scaley ones...
The other deformed fish your refer to are better known as earlswood mankos...yep Dave has his hands tied when these were stocked..however there are a few

The bowl is £350 a year and has had fish from Ed put in there along with them horrible deformed fish from that other water.I know the owner did not have much choice to take them but that weird lump they all seem to have near the back fin is strange. Some bloody stunning originals in there though
