The Italian model was close the schools as soon as they could see what was coming and lock down everything soon after. All out of the blue. Deaths are high despite these measures, not because of.

Boris's 'plan' seems to be do nothing for ages, then realise his core voters will die, before putting in place ill defined rules, adopting Corbyn-like help for employees while doing bugger all for the self employed.

Plenty of them about in all industries, the amount of ppe in use on small jobs in the last couple of weeks is a surprise, it's normally in the vans under that copy of the daily sport from 2012

So do you think we are deliberately going for the Italian model?

Yes the bucket of water into the bottle with a hole in it scenario that was on here last week.
Problem is if has to be done in a controlled manner, I know there's a lot of sensible tradesmen on here but from what they say the building trade is full of not so sensible Charlie, Stella grunters.

We know they want people to catch it, but at a rate that the NHS can cope with.

Seems that way

I mostly work on my own so regularly "bend" elf end safety rules on lifting, but how will it work on big sites when you need a 2 man lift but the item isn't 2 meters?
I could have done with a hand with a 90kg washer dryer earlier

Collateral damage.
As non key workers their Kids are off school and families isolated, they cannot circulate the virus if infected, will generally have a good chance of survival (itís a young manís game (within reason)) and they wonít have to pay out 2.5k a month x1000000 immediately.

Thatís been a recurring theory of a few blokes in the trade Iíve spoken to who read papers without bristols on every page and know more words than Ďgrunt Charlie grunt Stellaí

It does seem ad-hoc.
Makes no sense these measures when construction sites have hundreds in canteens and thousands on site. But the government's advice today is crack on
