Yep, I noticed that too... "Look at my iinterlektual book colektion..."

What about adverts starting with really sad minor key piano chords......

usually with the narrator stated "We've cared about our clients since [insert year here]...you in our safe hands....we care about you....."

Not.

Can you imagine if the government had spent 10's of millions of tax payers money on PPE, hazmat suits, the lot, in the last few years. This stuff has a shelf life so would have to be binned..and re-bought, you can almost hear the usual fascist shouty loony left now "Yeah I bet Boris is wasting 10's of millions of our money, I bet he's it off his mates cousins friends aunties brother's company who went to Eton"

You know it's true.

So...

Along with 'ramping up'

I have a new pet hate from the coronavirus coverage. I'm getting sick of all and sundry being interviewed in front of their pretentious bookcases with a strategically placed set of classics, intellectual studies, perhaps a cookbook, an autobiography of someone 'cool' (that definition varies depending on the interviewee - anyone from Lenin to Lennon to Lemon (Kieth)) and a photo of a deceased dog / cat.

However... in more positive news, I am now going to use the phrase 'led by the science' as my catch all excuse for everything...

'Why haven't you washed the dishes?' - I'm waiting to be led by the science.
'You're drunk again!' - I'm being led by the science
'You did WHAT with my sister..?!?' - I was led by the science.

Perfect.

Hi Noj

Don't take it personally ,

So , Hancock around two weeks ago said that he was personally making sure that our NHS would have enough ppe , as he should , as we all know he loves the NHS , he wears a little badge to prove it .

If you can post something up that contradicts the evidence below , knock yourself out !

The government has missed opportunities to secure at least 16m face masks for NHS staff in the past four weeks, amid growing frustration from companies who say Britain is losing much-needed equipment to other countries.

As ministers faced relentless questions over a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals, suppliers said their offers to deliver UK-standard face masks were being met with silence from the government.

And on another day of chaos over the government’s PPE procurement, a senior civil servant said that its decision to opt out of a joint EU scheme was politically motivated. However he was forced to retract his claim within hours after he was contradicted by the health secretary, Matt Hancock.

Adding to the confusion, Hancock claimed that the UK had now joined the scheme – only for EU sources to note that the U-turn had happened recently so Britain would not benefit from the supplies of emergency equipment

From the BBC today:

"Why are people having weird dreams?

"The dream I've been having since lockdown started is that I'm in my car just going round and round a roundabout," Holly Hyde tells the BBC.

"I'm talking to my mum on the phone, and she's in a car behind me - we're both in separate cars going round the roundabout. Nothing really happens, we just keep going round. I wake up feeling quite anxious afterwards."

Holly, 31 from London, looked up the dream online and found a site saying it signified being stuck in a looping situation in real life - which she said "made sense", given the lockdown.

And she isn't the only person having vivid anxiety dreams at the moment. In our report below, which seems to have struck a chord with many of you, we looked at the strange phenomenon of the coronavirus dream."

It was all explained in 1978. Either Bolder Colorado of Las Vegas...Good or evil.

Hi Jon Boy,.

The UK has the worst government in decades

If that statement was made by a PhD in political science who specialised in modern political history, we would consider it to have some academic credibility, but I'm assuming that's not you.
In that case, I would suggest that, the lesser the credibility of the opinion, the higher is the scale of uninformed hyperbole.
It's not apparent yet whether you or Spanker are the lead player in posting the most, kneejerk, arguement from ignorance, opinions, because it's a close run thing, and at the moment you are both about neck and neck.

BB.

The brave doctors and nurses are being let down by over beaurocratic management and procurement managers. Who in normal times just about managed but now are in over their heads.

The head of LAS this morning on the radio said that he gets a list every morning about PPE levels and is unaware of any shortages of PPE in the LAS and also he was unaware of any ambulances being turned away from the Nightingale.

So who to believe the persons actually involved or the MSM 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

did you see the one where the president with terrible hair described them as being 'responsible people'?

and then suggested that stricter gun control in Virginia just months after 12 people were killed in a mass shooting is the 2nd amendment under siege?

honestly he's just hilarious...

thank god he doesn't have any power or responsibility eh?

If the masks are anything like the disposable ones from building suppliers you'd be better off with a scarf

No... the nhs missed out on those masks not us.
Each trust has so many levels of (mis)management and staff they could’ve got on the phone themselves to the suppliers. Who also should’ve contacted trusts independently, who then apply to government for funding.
Do you expect the health secretary or prime minister to be present when somebody has to remove some kidney stones or order more post it notes for the office?
Sorry but the nhs, as brilliant as it can be, is prone to making mistakes and non frontline paper shufflers should’ve been on the ball
