In reply to Post #8 Hi Ray
not being funny, but looking back on your previous posts, one of your very first (if not THE first) was asking about alarms.
Despite numerous replies (I think 27 in total) you did not return to that thread to either follow up any of the suggestions, or even thank people for their replies or help.
You could have got your post count up a bit there by returning to the thread and just thanking people.
Not "meaningful" in the overall scheme of things, just good manners and things like that go a long way to building up your forum persona, and help people see that you're a nice guy.
Not a criticism by the way, just to say that useful contribution is not just rambling on about rigs, bait or tackle. Sometimes it's simpler than that.......

In reply to Post #21 I think that's sensible. The rules are perfectly clear, abide by them.

In reply to Post #20 please don't think i've come on to undermine whats obviously a group rule ... and i'm happy to abide but doesn't mean there couldn't be other ways ... i'll strike this posts comments from my meaningful ones if any were before ;-)

In reply to Post #18 Posts that are done for the sake of it don't count towards 100 meaningful posts

In reply to Post #18 We’ve all been there and gone through the process

In reply to Post #17 100 posts to read classifieds is crazy but fair enough its the group rules... However
encouraging everyone to post for the sake of it surely just adds loads of repeats and garbage I've nearly 2000 all positive sales and buys on ebay could this not be away of checking if someone is genuine or not.... i'm not a trader its over many years and proves a lot more than my content in fishing related posts.. I'd be happy to share my e-bay name with admin to be checked out ... I tend to only buy 2nd hand tackle and like to upgrade by selling mine to buy better ...

In reply to Post #16 No conspiracy guys.
Just double checking with the other MODS why this could be the case.

In reply to Post #14 His classified has been locked yet the thumb remains. Hmmm....

There's a user who registered on the 16th Feb 2020 who at the time of writing this has 14 posts to his name and they have a thumb already. Nice to see the rules apply to everyone!

In reply to Post #8 In light of your long service to the carp forum we have had a rethink of the classified rule that has been part of the forum for more years than I have grown a beard for and unfortunately for some we have decided to keep the qualifying criteria as is , for the reasons as explained below.
Only 84 more posts to go , no crappy one liners

|
|
In reply to Post #1 Another reason the rule was put in place was because this is not a sales site its a forum where people get involved help each other out ...... open classifieds section doesn't promote this

In reply to Post #8 No chance of them reconsidering it, and rightly so. There are plenty of places you can buy used kit too, not just here. Ebay, tackle trader, gumtree, preloved, face ache etc etc

In reply to Post #8 This has been the rules for many many years now and was brought in to help try and stop members being ripped off. Although nothing is failsafe this system has worked very well
The 3 month, 100 constructed posts rule allows new members to build up some sort of rapport on the forum and that other members “get to know” you and can see from your posts if they want to deal with you etc
If someone had just joined the forum and their first post was selling thousands of pounds worth of tackle and a long standing member with thousands of posts, has been to a few socials, met loads of people from the forum and has sold to various members in the past was selling the exact same tackle for the exact same price. Who would you pick to deal with?
Get more involved with the forum, ask any questions you may need help with if you are new to carp fishing. 100 posts won’t take long to get to

In reply to Post #7 I genuinely thought that it was either 3 months or 100 posts. I didn't realise it was both.
I'm new to carp fishing and I've a lot of gear to buy so I would have thought it would be in the interest to all selling gear that a member can get access before 100 posts. As I said I'm new to carp fishing so 100 meaningful posts will take me a long time as I've very little to contribute.
Perhaps the Mods could have a rethink.
Regards,
Ray.

In reply to Post #3 Think you are getting your wires crossed chap

In reply to Post #3 No you weren't. Martin (Mod) informed you on 30th September of what the requirements were when only your second post was asking why you couldn't access the classifieds. Admittedly there's a typo in his response but it's clear what he meant.
"You require 100 constructive posts and a minimum (of) 3 months on the forum before verification can be considered
Thanks in advance
Martin"

In reply to Post #3 I always thought it was both but I stand to be corrected.

In reply to Post #2 I was informed by a moderator that it was either 100 posts or 3 months.

You need to read the rules mate, you have to have made over 100 meaningful posts to get your thumbs up.

I'm now a member for over three months but still can't get into the Classified section.
Can you please arrange this for me.
TIA,
Ray
