In reply to Post #22 Many are taken for the pot. Goslawice is a commercial venue, but public venues there are still hardly attractive in the way French ones are because much is taken home. I must say that, from all the Eastern Bloc countries (except Slovenia), the Poles are sure growing more and more towards C&R.

In reply to Post #24 I have a few bookings next year to France which are cancellations from this year TBF, I've been going to France since 1999 I think as of 2022 I will be looking at other countries for a change I have good friends in Poland, Denmark, Sweden, as well as Holland who have all offered me over to fish some of their waters also my son moved to Holland last year and is buying his own house with a garage, I can leave a set of kit there so I can leap frog about the place just need things to get back to normal now.

In reply to Post #22 To be honest a few years ago the concept of carp fishing in poland wouldn't have crossed my mind probably for those reasons but as i started to look further than France, going to the likes of Slovenia, Spain, Morocco i realised there was so much moreout there. I know of 2 or 3 decent lakes in Poland which i would happily fish. Aim was to try and chalk up carl from as many countries as was practically possible but decided to have a few trips to Poland as the set up was so good.

In reply to Post #22 From what I'm lead to believe it is getting a lot better.

In reply to Post #21 Out of interest, do all the Polish lakes operate on a no kill basis or are fish taken for the pot?

|

In reply to Post #20 Good luck with your trip, I have a good Polish mate Marcin living in the UK who has told me about quite a few lakes he fishes when he goes back to Poland for his holidays every year, Goslawice was one he told me about quite some time ago now, certainly plenty out there to go at.

In reply to Post #19 its done some big uns in the past few weeks Ian for sure. This is a rescheduled trip from earlier in the year. I am in a fortunate position where i can work from home so going to take the opportunity. I have a week on there next year but think its going to get increasingly difficult to get on there the more big carp it gives up so i don't want to miss the opportunity.

In reply to Post #18 The lad that I'd mentioned worked for me in post 16 didnt go in the end as he was concerned that as he had two weeks booked off and might have to take a further two weeks after his return that he just couldn't take the chance his Polish girlfriend still flew over for her sister's wedding, unfortunately the week and swim he gave up was where and when the potential new lake record came from, not saying he would of caught it but he was gutted to say the least.

In reply to Post #14 Possible a new polish record been caught lately at 35,8kg(awaiting official confirmation from authorities).

In reply to Post #14 A mate that works for me is out there 2nd week of September, they are travelling out early for his girlfriends sisters wedding then a week on the lake fishing, their home is about an hour from the lake so pretty handy for future trips if he likes the place.

In reply to Post #13 So obviously due to the Rona May trip didn't happen but happy to say the owners had no problem at all in rescheduling to September for no additional cost. very helpful and understanding. Anyone been out in the last month ? We will now be in peg 7. Any info would be appreciated. thanks j.

Sarulesti October 2003...Just about to get totally wrecked with this group of Ukrainians. I don't know what it was we were drinking - I suspect it was high powered vodka - but as I recall not one of us was left standing by dusk. I slept where I fell but was surprisingly hale and hearty the next day.

In reply to Post #10 Been looking at this lake. Seems a lot of medium size fish and weed...or am I doing it an injustice??!

In reply to Post #8 I seen a guy out in the lake, clearly having trouble with his outboard. I done the gentlemanly thing and went out in the boat to tow him back. When i got him back to his swim his mate was stood there highly amused at the situation. He presented us with two tea cups with what i assume was very good quality vodka. It was apparent at this point there was a little bit of a language barrier. I drank my offering tried to say my goodbyes but they insisted i have another. What ensued was a several bottles of whatever we had and communicated through broken english, dutch and lots of help from google translate until the early hours of the morning.
Needless to say we had a good week. Even caught a few aswell

In reply to Post #7 Hi Dean
Prague 1989-2011 and yes I drank with the best/worst.
Also fished some of the most beautiful venues and saw some of the most stunning wild fish, I was chasing the 21 stockings (and before I get loads of pm's I only know of 8)

Hi Jason
Of all the hidden gems in Eastern Europe I'd firmly put this place in my top 5.
I can only echo dean's post with a couple of extra
Best
Jon
(Apart from not drinking with the locals, gotta be done for the full EE carp experience)

In reply to Post #1 Went in October back again in April some big fish and loads to go at. Extremely well run the crew are all very helpful. The food they offer is worth a look. Traditional polish food but all fresh home cooked and loads of it.
The set up makes some of the french places i have been to look amateurish.
Top tip dont drink with the locals
Good luck

Seen a few vids on youtube on this place and took a gamble and booked for May next year. Tired of France and spent a fortune going to EA this year which to be honest was a bit disappointing. Time for change ;-)
There appear to be great facilities with a lodge actually on the wooden platform including beds/bedding, cooker/fridge etc and a boat is supplied. well priced also. worth a look for everyone as an alternative destination. Will do a write up when we are back. j
