Completely agree.

I've been using a set of Wychwood solace alarms for about 7 years now and they are perfect. Can buy a set of 3 plus a receiver for £150 online - which is about the price of a single delkim!

Why would you buy them? You started the whole thread stating how cheap and nasty fox alarms look but now you want advice on some .

I used a set of the cheap and cheerful Fox MX for about 18 years and they were spot on, still have them now although not used them for about three years due to buying a set of Mxr+. They have also been spot on, and only just had to change the batteries after around (Iíd guess) 120 nightsí use with the receiver. Every brand of alarms will have itís fans and itís detractors - I just want reliable and buy once - having found the MX to be so, I stuck with Fox.

Mine are the original version 100%. Still some floating about online second hand and an absolute steal at £200 mark in my opinion

I'm another mmxr user and I fancied a change last year so I tried the atts but couldn't get on with the long beep you get when first activated...also I like the drop back differentiation on the mmxr...it makes a very distinctive sound when the indicator rises slightly very quickly then drops slightly before it screams off....you will know what I mean if you use them.So I went back to them...they don't last forever( have had two head units pack up in last 10 yrs)but I love them .
I was advised by someone at fox to seal the battery cover with insulating tape to prevent water ingress so I always do that when I change batteries and never had problems.
