Yep stiffer in the but section. Easier to get more distance than the 12’ main thing is to get the right length handle for you.

I am an ok at casting and I have a set of hi's 12ft 3.5 rods and they will cast a 3.5oz lead upto about 110 yards max (with fox 12lbs tapered line) and a 4oz lead overloads the rod and casts like a dead donky with bricks raped around its legs. The rods also seem to have probs with pva bags.
I have had the rods for 6 years and love them the build quality on the rods is just ace and they are very light and easy to use and play fish on. I have had cats upto 44lbs out of weed filled lakes on them and they have not missed a beat.
I use them for most of the fishing I do but when it comes to big water fishing I have to get the 13ft casting rods out.

Ive got a set and wouldn't change them for anything as it is a great all rounder to give comparisons Ive had a set of ES (Best rod for short range work IMO) then I got some XS fit too pokey for me, then a set of HIs in 3 not enough grunt for weed although a lovely rod, then got his in 3.5 and felt over tuned so settled on the 12'6 3.25 which covers me for every scenario and has been said below will cast further but still great action for playing fish

Best rods ive ever owned. A true allrounder. The 12’6 3.25 will cast further than the 12’ 3.5 as it has a stiffer butt section but still has a forgiving tip so really nice to play fish on. Out of all the rods i ever owned and ive had most of the top end rods over the years these were by far my favourite.

How do people think these compare to the 12ft 3.5lb? I’ve been told they are stiffer in the butt section. No bag work involved, just wondering which one I could put a 4oz lead further. The length may outweigh the tc?
