In reply to Post #42 Before it was as people are pointing out a more dominant squid flavour now it’s basically scopex with a hint of squid

In reply to Post #41 In what way did they say they had changed the recipe?

In reply to Post #38 No they quite openly have said the recipe is different now

In reply to Post #39 Yea I know…but a man can hope.

In reply to Post #38 I think you know the answer to that.

Would love to know if the Scopex Squid they sell now is the same as the stuff when it came out. Doesn’t smell as ‘squiddy’ to me but I’ve got much older and smoked many fags since then!

In reply to Post #36 Sounds good doesn't it, I didn't know all that about it. Lee Jackson just chucked an unmarked bag of bait at me and said use this. I wasn't going to argue was I .He wasn't wrong.

In reply to Post #35 S MIX (Squid) - 3 fishmeals, 3 birdfoods, a secret high protein source, a cereal mix specially developed to work in conjunction with high protein products to promote natural weight gain and good health, Squid Essential extract, salt and powder palatants make this mix totally unique to Nash Bait. S Mix Squid is the result of the most comprehensive research relating to carp nutrition in a natural environment and has proven over 20 years that it's spot on. Tank tests and information relating to farmed fish have only limited use in the carp bait arena where the carp can also feed on naturals and other angler’s baits. There isn’t any chance of ever putting together an exact available nutrition list as all waters vary but the S Mix Squid is accurately put together to not only emulate but to improve on all other nutrition available to the carp in its environment. This is why the Squid is effective in easy over stocked waters, medium difficult waters, hard waters and even totally virgin waters which haven’t even seen boilies. Over the 20 plus years that the S Mix Squid has been in production, hundreds of different recipes have been used with this base mix. If you have what you think is a good attractor then the S Mix Squid is the base mix that will definitely work with it. S Mix Squid is the base mix for the famous Scopex Squid and Scopex Squid Red.
Best recipes per 4 egg mix. Add base mix gradually to suit:
3ml Scopex No 1, 5ml Red Liver oil Palatant and 1ml Intense sweetener. This is the original Scopex Squid recipe that has been catching carp from the hardest UK waters for nearly 2 decades. When fished alongside other baits it has consistently caught a higher average weight of carp, truly a big fish catcher.
10ml Amino liver Concentrate, 5ml Mature Lobster Oil Palatant, 3ml Peach Melba, 3ml Lobster Thermadore and 1ml Intense Sweetener. This bait has been used to great effect on some of the countries circuit waters, originally on Coate park (the Coate mix), Elstow, The Cons etc.
4ml Tangerine oil and 1ml Intense sweetener. Although this recipe seems so simple it has caught thousands of carp and is an awesome late season recipe.

In reply to Post #33 The Bacarel stuff will be top drawer, some of their liquids are awesome (and being sold under various guises now...)
The original Nash stuff was to my nose/ eye very different to addarome. As someone said I head it was more of a cheese based product but it bloody worked!
To this day the original S mix was one of the best baits I've used

Have a look at the Bacarel stuff, made from the flesh, purple in colour, au natural so you could probably load it up to the nuts, not used it myself but i am sure it will be top drawer as all their products are
As mentioned below, as you hear all the rumours, I once heard the Nash stuff had a cheese powder in it, who knows. One thing for sure, due to its really extreme potency I would not have thought it was not just a natural squid product, unless it is mega, mega concentrated during the manufacturing process, happy to be wrong?
Used a bit myself over the years, they also did the liquid version, black stinking stuff, not as good as the powder for me
Guess that’s an interesting question for Jason Ryder

In reply to Post #30 Smells pretty damn similar but again our noses are different

In reply to Post #30 From what I understand it’s just the skeleton crushed up
Sold as chitin, animal feed
Maybe the fishing stuff is the meat , but maybe not? 🤭
Dosnt mean it’s not effective though

It’s good but it’s also wildly expensive, BAF squid powder is still very good
