Fishing small rivers and streams by Paul Duffield is worth a look.

It's a general approach rather than specific to one species but gives some really good tips and information for approaches to river techniques

John Wilson did a series of species specific books through anglers mail and there's a 'catch chub' one in there. Not necessarily current but he always caught.....

Although not very "current" ......John Etherington - "Big Chub and Roach" is a very good read imo and Tony Miles has written plenty about specimen Chub and Perch also iirc Chris Yates "How to fish" is about river Perch??
Appreciate you are looking for some up to date instructional books but the above will def help you put a few nice fish within reach

Donít think thereís too much written in books about chub and perch. Have a look at the chubfishers and perchfishers websites, they have a few articles on there.

An Introduction To Pike Fishing by David Batten is a good start for pike. It's not modern/up to date, it's stuff that works and hasn't needed changing.

Hi all,

Like most I started as a kid fishing with worms and maggots for whatever came along and moved over the years from pleasure fishing into specialist carp fishing. As such Iíve never really targeted specimens of other species, but Iíd like to give it a proper go. Can anyone point me in the direction of some up to date instructional books on pike, perch and chub fishing, as these are the species I know I can target locally.

Thanks in advance
