In reply to Post #225 Hopefully the brand carries on the success of the past couple of years, great items at realistic pricing. I guess Snotswold's turnover is helped by the handbag manufacturing nowadays, as well as the fishing luggage.
In reply to Post #222 Yes. I’d guess that’s where the speero stuff was being manufactured anyway. So possibly they bought out the two original owners??. Who knows.
Must be a tough market to be in if all you sell is luggage, however we’ll made it is. Apart from CA does any other carp brand survive on luggage alone?

In reply to Post #222 Thats my thinking too
Would I be right in thinking Speero, Viper tactical and Jack Pyke were all owned by the same company(Thatchreed)?
let's hope the quality isn't affected and they've sold out
In reply to Post #219 Les bowers posted that on Facebook.
They’re not involved anymore.
In reply to Post #218 No idea mate. I hope I haven’t got it wrong but I’m sure I was told Dean and Ross are no longer involved.
Maybe they are doing something else no luggage related???
In reply to Post #217 Why would they leave as surely its doing very well
In reply to Post #215 Possibly due to Speero changing hands. I think I’m right in saying the two guys who set it up are no longer involved.
In reply to Post #215 Understandable, I'll just have to be patient then.

In reply to Post #213 Has anyone heard about the tri sleeve? I'm after something that can take 3 rods plus another 2 in sleeves when required.

In reply to Post #212 Not heard anymore, hopefully still around June time
In reply to Post #211 Cheers .
Is there any news on the Tri sleeve front, or is it a case of just being extremely patient?
In reply to Post #210 Yeah,no problem at all.I had all my other items from Tackle Addicts in Tamworth and Sean was absolutely superb.Very quick service and looked after me and my mate

In reply to Post #209 Tony would you please let me know how you get on regarding the price..

In reply to Post #207 the "compact" quiver swallows up 3 full rod sleeve,2 nets, fast n light brolly,2 storm poles, all my jag bank sticks, digging stick and distance sticks. room on the other side for a spod/marker rod too.
In reply to Post #206 I'm going wait to see the tri-sleeves and if they do the 10ft sleeves. Now I have seen your set up I must admit I like how compact the quiver looks.I just could not use it without sleeves, too much on show for me to break
I bought the reel pouches kit with the aim of getting them modified by having the elastic strap cut down and re stitched by a seamstress but it didn't need doing in the end as they fit well enough without it. I may still get 10ft sleeves if they do bring them out. more for storing in.
In reply to Post #204 That is exactly the dilemma I'm having
Looks superb Andy.
Question is, do I hold out for the possibility of a Tri Sleeve or go for the quiver with padded sleeves?
In reply to Post #201 That quiver looks well smart with the full sleeves fitted .I have used the compact rucksack alot now on some big walks and love it,its a perfect size and so comfy to carry
In reply to Post #201 Tidy set up I have bought a fair bit of speero gear and its quality can't fault it.
I bought the compact quiver which fits three full 12/13ft sleeves no problem,I also bought the reel pouch system with the idea of getting the strap modified to fit 10ft rods, no need as they fit well enough without any need to alter them.

In reply to Post #195 Sounds to me like they’re saying the sizing is normal fitted, and if you like it loose then buy a size bigger.

In reply to Post #198 I bought mine last year. The listed sizes made no sense whatsoever. They may of changed them now.

In reply to Post #197 They must come up really small then if an xl is right for you and they state a 2XL as 44-46, well they did...I'd need a 4xl I reckon which they don't do.
In reply to Post #195 Hi mate. I had this issue. I bought a Hoodie if it helps. I’m a 42 chest and normally buy medium or large. I went for the xl in Speero. It was spot on. A little loose but good for layering. Arms were perfect so I would say a size up from your normal. D

In reply to Post #193 The final response I got was:-
The Merga size chart has now been updated.
(it hasn't, in fact I can't see any sizes now)
They are not over generous on size. If you like your clothing a bit looser fit I would go up a size
So I still don't know what the sizes are but I know that when I do I'd probably best to go a size up..
Just confused why they can't tell me the sizes? I'm not going to order something just in case to then send it back, at my cost no doubt.
I've given up.

In reply to Post #189 i agree.

In reply to Post #188 The camo pattern they use is not that nice either though imo

once korda have brought out their luggage in the colour it is now, theyll no.doubt bring a.camo version out like their compact range
In reply to Post #186 The new korda rod bags look nice, just not sure on that colour
In reply to Post #185 Yep. Totally agree with that. I have to say I think that the general quality of websites in the carp tackle industry is poor.
In reply to Post #184 Sorry mate, i wouldn't say Speero were one of the bad ones, from what I've seen good products at a good price point but there is no excuse for not knowing your products or not having a website that gives all the correct info.
In reply to Post #183 To be fair to Speero. I know at least a couple of the guys involved had a good few years working in the tackle industry so it’s perhaps a bit unfair to suggest they don’t have any acumen for the business they are in.
You are 100% right though. It’s a tough saturated market and it’s about to get tougher when kordas luggage comes out. 1 because it’s meant to be really impressive and 2 because they are a marketing machine.
In reply to Post #182 That's because most of these companies are run by thick idiots with little or no business acumen or customer service skills, marketing is done on the cheap and any initial quality gradually drifts away.
There are a number of business's in this game that deserved to go under and have, there are still a few out there that deserve the same fate and in time they will go the same way (make your own list)
Very few make the most of their limited abilities and make it through with the help of a bloody good accountant and a bit of luck, at that point they start employing professionals to do the marketing, media etc and the prices go up!
Being in the right place at the right time helped most of today's big names, you've got to be extra special in today's saturated market.

Gear looks nice.
I enquired about the sizing of their clothing as when I looked all they had was S, M, L, XL etc..I've asked was size an XL is (I was going by the usual 44-46 chest for XL)
I'm 3 emails in now and still don't know about the XL size on a hoodie.
They have a tab on the website, size guide which is blank.
Funnily enough they do have the sizes on the site today but still not for the hoodie. (2XL is a 44-46 btw)
Email Chain:-
"Hi there,
Was wondering if you could tell me the sizing dimensions of your clothing.
There is a size guide tab on the website but it has no information.
I am specifically looking at the size in inches for L, XL & 2XL
Thanks in advance
"What item are you looking at?"
"All the clothing. Not one product states the size apart from L, XL etc..
As you know sizing comes up different on many products."
"Which item are you looking at and we will advise on the size"
The merga hoodie..for starters.
I notice that you do have the sizes on the Armour Top DPM. I suspect it's the same?
I've had no response from the last e-mail and feel like I'm trying to get blood out of a stone.

In reply to Post #179 Thanks for that feedback,I'm certainly going get some of their gear

I have had the rod holdall, modular carryall and various accessory bits from speero for last 6 months or so...it is well made and good quality. The modular systems are well thought out and you just clip on extra bag or so if on a longer session etc...
Rod holdall is well padded and plenty big enough, mine carries 3 rods plus spod rod all made up, 2 landing nets, large retention weigh sling, distance sticks and various storm poles etc.
Deffinately worth a look at the show if you are looking for new luggage...i will be adding to my dpm collection 😁

For such a premium price the quality of Cotswold Aquarius gear is in the main very poor.
In reply to Post #174 When my rhino carryall faded CA did not give very good customer service imo.I think most companies just copy and tweek eachothers items now.The speero luggage seems quite well priced too
In reply to Post #173 Don't get me wrong Im not saying the speero isn't good gear, I alluded to the fact that I think they've copied some of the cotswold gear and then made some improvements on it, however it lacks authenticity in my eyes and therefore any innovation.
CA have been around for ages and have a reputation that can be trusted if you do have any issues as I have had with a zip on my trident or a tear on my vulpine rucksack then Ive contacted them and sent it off to be repaired free of charge.
Ultimately there really isn't much innovation from any of the tackle companies, relaunch the same product with a different shade of green or Camo every other year with improvements that us as field testers in 90% of the time have asked for and then hey presto it cones out the year after
Good luck to them tough its a tough market to break into
In reply to Post #172 I had cotswold luggage before and have to be honest,I was not overly impressed. The speero looks better made with some improvements
In reply to Post #171 Ive seen it in Johnson Ross and thought it looked good, All my luggage is DPM cotswold Aquarius and cost me a small fortune, I can't help but think this is a rip off of there gear with a few additional extras (Which I do think are good) and the price point is decent

In reply to Post #170 Thanks for that,I saw a few bits in a shop yesterday and it felt and looked very well made indeed

In reply to Post #169 Hi mate. I’ve got a few Speero bits and I’m very impressed tbh. Good quality material and zips. Got the modular bait bag and Buzzer bag as well as a few smaller bits. Highly recommended 👍🏼

In reply to Post #168 It looks very good quality from what I have seen of it,just wondered if any users had any feedback on it

In reply to Post #167 Tough market to break into when virtually every major player produces luggage. Especially as the new Korda luggage is meant to be really really good. I wouldn’t fancy going up against the marketing power of Korda as a start up business. Maybe they will need to diversify a bit.
They are at the big one. Providing it’s not cancelled. I will have a nose at it and see if I can get any info on it you need.
There was another start up luggage company near us at NAS who’s stuff looked ok. But for the life of me I can’t remember what they were called. I’m getting old.

It’s an open forum and so I think I’m perfectly ok to comment
As far as i'm aware in 7 years of working for JAG i never heard your name mentionned there so i asume apart of being Simons mate you don't have ties with JAG.
I’ve worked a few shows for them.
I think you're fighting someone else's vendetta..
Not sure what this means. I don’t know of any vendetta. I haven’t been rude about speero at all. Not any fighting from me.
Gonna leave it here.
I wish you would. We’ve only just got back to normal on here after the weekends melt down
You got what you wanted by baiting for comments.
It’s not what I wanted. Otherwise I’d have been rude wouldn’t I? Like I said show me one genuinely out of order thing I’ve said about you, speero or their tackle. In fact I’ve even apologised to you which you’ve not even acknowledged
I hope everyone enjoyed it.

In reply to Post #134 Er I wasn’t telling you who you can work for. None of my business and I don’t give a ****.
I was just a bit surprised when I looked at the speero website and saw there was a couple of jag copied products on there, even to the point that they use jag bankware in their promo video for the buzzer bag. So I kind of assumed that any manufacturer wouldn’t allow someone to work for them and also a rival, which is why I said one or the other.
Cyprinus have ripped off the m3 compact. I can’t imagine too many cyprinus employees work for aqua as well. That was it. It wasn’t specifically aimed at you. At the point I didn’t think a lot of people had clocked the jag cloned stuff, so not wanting to draw attention to it, I simply said I think you’d need to work for one or the other. That’s really it and if you read back what I’ve posted I’ve said nothing negative about speero, their gear or the owners cos I simply haven’t seen it and I don’t know them.
Granted I did joke it’s a bit of an odd name, if that makes me a muppet then guilty as charged.
In reply to Post #134 So the owners of speero used to work at jag has something gone on a bit back handed I only ask as you seem to know.Like I have asked before is the gear worth a punt as it looks very well designed and made I'm assuming the guys who own it are here to stay not a small outfit that could be here today gone tomorrow

In reply to Post #133 Muppet yes, thats what i've called you.
Normally i wouldn't lower myself to this kind of vocabulary, but i couldn't resist now!
Who were you to tell me who i can work for and who not?!
According to you it was either JAG or Speero i could work for, even though you don't know me at all!
I never got asked to work with Speero either, i only stated i know 2 of my ex-JAG collegues there, nothing more nothing less.
You don't know me and i don't know you and suddenly you start commenting on things you only know from hear-say.

whether its bags in bags or modular clip togther stuff to stop it all falling off the barrow, no guns to heads to buy.

They have got some very nice bits indeed, although I can't help thinking they have tried too hard and you end up carrying multiple bags inside bags that weigh a ton!

In reply to Post #27 What’s it got to do with me being professional? I don’t work in the tackle trade. I own a plumbing and heating business. I was pointing out that it can’t be sour grapes from me as I don’t know the people involved in it.
I don’t really understand the bit about how people are treated, this is a new brand so I’d hope they intend to treat their customers right or surely they ain’t gonna last long??

This is getting way too personal for me!
I just see profiles/nicknames (no idea about the real names behind them) who suddenly take it very personal, which i don't really like.
It was never my intention to upset anyone i want to add.
