Lovely picture there

I've done a number of evenings now with a couple of barbel to show for my efforts. First 7lb2oz, 2nd one 6lb10oz. Plus many chub. The Yorkshire Derwent is such a beautiful place to fish but not particularly easy! Amongst the many chub I also caught a surprise roach just shy of the 2lb mark, 1lb14oz and a proper little chunk of a fish, took a 15mm boilie!

7-2-barbel

6-10barbel

1-14-roach

I done opening night, but the water was up and very chocolatey.
I managed 3 Chub and 2 Rainbows (not the trout type)

Was away with the fam at Centre Parcs this weekend, arriving home mid afternoon yesterday. Wife knew I was keen for a spot of dangling on the rivers, so I got the go ahead to go for a couple of hours in the evening.

Fished a slightly swollen and very muddy brown Yorkshire Derwent looking for a barbel, nothing to report but I did have 3 nice chub and lost something to a hook pull, one chub was definitely a PB although I didn't weigh it, I reckon it must have been 4 1/2 to 5lb. Banks were treacherous, every time I stood up I was slipping forward with 8+ foot deep right in front of me!

Still, thoroughly enjoyed the couple of hours on the bank and have to say the chub takes were mental, ripping line off the bait runners thought I'd lost the first one in some lily pads but managed to get it out, I swear if it had come off I would have thought I'd lost a barbel!!
