How did you get on in Tortuguero?

I'm going Tortuguero in March next year. I'm after a one-man-band charter for Tarpon....

I've been twice before but to the pacific side. I did a FADS trip which was obscene, something like 16 raises for 10 sailfish and four Blue Marlin to 450lb, and a Striped Marlin. We also had Wahoo, that turned into Cervece. And had an amazing encounter with a group of Killer Whales over 100miles out. Went hunting Tuna following Spinner dolphins. and watching all the sealife at night come to the surface was something else.

I've also trekked OSA peninsular and had Roosters and African Pompano to over 30lb.

The whole place is like Jurassic Park, my mate who lives out there is obsessed with catching a record Snook. They're about.

So much more to do in Costa Rica than fish (I went there for my honeymoon). Enjoy the forests, volcanoes, sea, wildlife and the loads of other things to offer. I did not fish but talking to a few guides (we used Costa Rica For Everyone as a small independent company for all of our trips (highly recommended over the tour operators versions but looking at notes looks like they may no longer exist otherwise would recommend you contacting them) and from what they said the fishing is nothing spectacular, in fact they looked at me strange for asking the question. Enjoy the trip, definitely up there as one of my favourite countries in the world
