May give it a bash as a backup water when syndicate is busy.
You used to only be able to fish about a third of the lake due to no access
Is this still the same. I remember a nic fella Called Terry back then who knew a lot

probably the same common thats the biggest in there now - around 28/29lb when i fished 3 years ago or so.

mirrors still quite elusive but i had a couple - nothing big (one of my 19's) I have seen one mirror go 23lb.

you do get some kids up there now and again sometimes having a swim but they dont cause any trouble and to be honest i'd rather that than they were staring at a playstation all the time. they keep well out the way.

fished it quite a bit being the only one on the whole lake and sometimes used to nip up to the pub on a hot day leaving my kit there - never had any trouble, lovely place and somewhere i will have to go back to to get my elusive 20!

Cheers joe
Let time I fished it was drained down a few feet for work on the dam, must be 20 years ago now and back then lake record was a 24 common.
I remember it was stocked by someone who put in a dozen mirrors and they never got caught.
Long story short we had a flash flood and level rose 2ft in a matter of hours and I had three of those mirrors during that storm.
Nothing massive low double but never saw them again.
May have another crack.
I fished the bay opposite the car park about half way down towards an old jetty.

Car park and fishing is all secure. I've been on the dam late evening and had a couple of cars roll up, all they do is smoke and leave again.

I agree.. a 20 would be an amazing fish from there. Doesnít seem likely.

How secure is the car park and fishing?
Used to get locals hanging about in car park having a beer and a smoke.
Never had an issue with them back in the day mind you.

The club claim Valebridge push 20, and whilst I'm an advocate for HHDAS(despite not having had a ticket for a while), I've never caught, met anyone who has, or seen a photo of any close to that size.

All sounds spot on to me.

It still does seem to be very quiet. I have walked around Balcombe a few times recently and occasionally valebridge, rarely see anyone fishing. Agree with what you say about Balcombe, it's a beautiful water but not easy and nothing big. If it had a slightly better stock, it would be an awesome water. But then again, it would bring in the crowds.

I would be interested to know how big they go in valebridge....?

Sounds like it might be a good club for me and my boy. I have my syndicate for my own fishing but taking him to balcombe lake and fishing for all species whilst I stick the carp rods out. Size isnít the biggest factor for me more about stunners and a fairly quite lake not to overcrowded. Done Isfield but itís far to busy nowadays

I fished there on and off for a number of years and echo what joe has said - met him there a couple of times!

Balcombe has a common that goes around 28/29 and there might be around half a dozen 20's - for me that became a bit of a quest in itself - a 20 from there would have meant alot as its not easy. Itd oes get easier (as always with time) but its a good size wild lake that is just lovely to be at. I will go back at some point to try for my 20 - i had 3 19's so close but no cigar! Havnet fished there for about 3 years as am a member at isfield now but used to be hardly anyone that fished it - bliss!

some of the more local anglers would always claim a couple of 30's in there but never saw a photo!

other lakes are short time, small fish that are quote easy to catch - valebridge being the nicest. again, nice for an afternoon and often the only one there.

Joined many years back but for carp there isnít much if you want bigger fish, Balcomb lake was quite hard back then as well, I then went on to join isefield as they had allot more options and have recently re joined this year to have another go at the waters. There is many other clubs to look at and even weirwood res if you fancy a challenge, u can fish that on club tickets as well as the syndicate

Hi mate

I've fished HHDAS on and off for years. Currently not fishing it. In short

Valebridge is ok for a day session, it's much more of a match water, and ok for a winter carp. I think a double from there is a good fish. Most are high singles.

Balcombe is a very open and silty lake, it's got a reasonable stock and a lot of swims. I don't think it's got any secrets or whackers, and a mid 20 is a very good fish for the water. That said its got some lovely looking mirrors and never gets too busy.

I think the rivers are their Jewel in the crown.

Not particularly low stock (Iím not the best person to advise on this) but average size is fairly small. Iíd take a guess at approx. 10-12lb. I believe the biggest fish in there is high 20s. This is all information taken from their social media and a couple of chats on the bank. Iíve only done one night - a blank!

I would be interesting to hear how big the carp go in valebridge as itís a beautiful water. My guess would be mid double.

The river is probably the highlight.. some big barbel to be had.

As you can tell, all very hazy information. I am sure a more long-standing member would be able to put us right.
