This is France they make their own rules, if they was to pull you over in the future and check for outstanding tickets they will probably make you pay for them too

Same for me. Strange how all of these went out and yet no others. Done the crime happy to pay if genuine but seems more political than road safety

I have just e-mailed Keith Taylor MEP for transport and tourism.
I have asked for the legal cut off date for tickets to be issued and advised him of the growing number of people it is affecting.
I have also asked if it is a possible scam/hack even though the fines go to the French gov site.

So we wait........................

Happened to me in jersey too many moons ago, hired a car, got parking ticket, dad who lived there at time said throw it away they will never chase you as you are not a resident, ended up with a nice letter asking me to return to a court in jersey or pay a nice fine

20 years ago I rented a car in Malta for a fortnights holiday on the 3rd day I got a parking ticket
so on the way back to the hotel I stopped at the car rental place and asked how I go on about paying it ?
he laughed and said you dont just tear it up you are not a resident you wont have to pay
so after that I wasnt worried to much if the car parks were full lol got another 5 tickets during the rest of the holiday

then 9 months later a big A4 sized official letter arrived embossed with Chief Justice of Malta I had been fined in my absence for the parking violations and then lots of other charges added for non payment etc

and when you rent a car you HAVE to give credit card details and they had used these details to take the money from my mastercard ! it was a lot of money and I could do nothing about it

I think it was May in 2017 when the agreement was made that EU countries would swap details

The private parking companies in the UK pay DVLA £2.50 to get your details.
Perhaps the French do the same?
Now he's a conspiracy theory perhaps the French authorities are selling the 'offences' to a private company?
