Enterprise Tackle sell this glow in the dark artificial pop-up that can be counter-weighted with a shot on the hair.

Shot on the hair, think it was how the KD rig was originally tied, but can be done with any pop-up on any rig.

I think that it has been pictured with the pop-up drilled out so the shot is hidden inside it, but I just position the shot right below the pop-up.

Really useful posts. I always thought that shot on a hair would tangle any rig other than the KD rig. I donít know why I thought that but itís clearly nonsense. Thanks guys, something for me to play with.

Tom dove weighted the hair and tied the knot less more aggressively. Or at least thatís my understanding of it.

Don't think it has a name bud, it can be done with any rig that incorporates a hair. I remember doing this years and years ago on a bog standard braided hair rig, way before wafters were a thing. Great method.

Maybe. That's the closest I can find, although 'KD' seems to refer to the way the hook is tied. I've seen the rig above used with a blow backc style.

I've been looking for ultra low popup rigs and found one where the weight/putty sits on the hair, about half inch directly under the popup, Instead of below the hook. Then the hook lays flat on the lake bed. Anyone know what this rig is called?

Also if anyone has used it and had any success?
