Highly recommend Orpington and Medway Valley. No security issue what so ever with ODAA for many years now and great for the price. Medway valley lakes are superbly managed with steeped in history

Thanks for the info James. I'm 90% sure I'll be going there this year so I'll have to pop in and say hello.

Do you know what the stocking is like on New Barge? They say there's a 30+ in there on the website but is that realistic? I'm thinking with my time available I'll have a better chance on there than the Big Lake

Big Lake is well run by a carp angler for carp anglers. Itís secure and most of the guys are friendly. Good stock of big fish with fishing from under the tips to ~120 yards. Big fish of most other species too, including catfish. I had a friend break his carp PB 3 sessions running!

But it gets very busy. It is quite possible to know exactly where you should be fishing but to not be able to get a swim nearby. Not unique to this lake, but you are competing with the anglers as much as the fish

Hi

Iím a member down at Orpington I fished at least one night per week over last 3 seasons had no issue with security. Upon arrival have two gates once you go trough them you have another gate before your get into the mains lakes

Itís not a bad ticket and very resaonable price aswell. Some good fish to be had in all lakes itís can get weedy in summer months but they do have weed cutters come in at the peak of summers

If ya want to know anything else give me my message

Yeah I've emailed them and they've been really open about that. I can see on FB that they stocked some decent looking fish in October last year so hopefully they start to come through.

They say that 2 of the lakes have about 150 fish in each of them still and at about 6 acres each that's not exactly light.

Interested if anyone else has any info on it though

Thanks for that, a few of those had't come up when searching.

Spiderhall looks ideal and I've emailed them but I know that there's a waiting list.

Does anyone have any experience with Darenth Big Lake? I've fished the other lakes on the complex but have heard very mixed things about Big Lake...

Thanks Darren,

From what I hear Orpington might suffer with a bit of a bad rep which doesn't seem completely deserved. From what I can see they have some lovely fish in there!

I've put my name in for DDAPS as well but God knows how long that will take to come through

Chris,

Orpington is a nice club to join, can get weedy, but has some nice fish in there, for your location it is a win win, being so local.

Put your name down on DDAPS waiting list, a great value ticket, with something for everyone. Average wait is 2-3 years.

Whilst you are waiting for your membership - fish Brooklands on a day ticket, baldwins lake is worth a look

Bromley and District Angling Society, is another one to consider putting your name down for, no night fishing first year, further afield, but stunning lakes, and more difficult.

and not forgeting Tonbridge and district angling and fish preservation society, another great value ticket, with something for everyone.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a club or syndicate that I can join relatively close to me and wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I'm in Orpington which is near Bromley. This is what I've found from my research so far and if anyone has any other ideas or thoughts on any of the venues then I'm all ears! I want somewhere where I'll realistically be going to once a week, mainly day sessions with perhaps the odd overnighter thrown in. I'm getting back in to fishing again so mainly just want to catch but I would like there to be some good looking fish and preferably at least a chance of a 30.

- Orpington Angling Society. I've heard/read lots about some of the security issues. I've been in contact with the club and it looks like they've added new gates etc. and every time I've driven past they've been all locked up etc. There's 2 lakes that look like they could interest me and look to have a good number of 20's with some 30's and (apparently) a 40. Quite likely to join this as it's 5 minutes away and really reasonable, can also join straight away with no waiting list

- DDAPS lots of history on the lakes and a decent number of venues for a reasonably priced ticket. Apparently the waiting list is pretty long especially if you have no one to introduce you so I'm sure I wouldn't get on there this year

- Holmesdale Angling. They've got 1 massive pit (70 acres) with unknown stock which is meant to be fairly tough. They've also got a smaller lake which was stocked last year with smaller fish. I doubt I have the time to fish the pit to get the rewards and I'm not sure if the smaller lake is what I'm looking for. Local though and reasonably priced

- Rookery Lake. Can only find limited info on this one but the venue looks quite picturesque on the website. I've reached out to them but haven't had a reply. Anyone know anything about this one?

The Carp Syndicate (Crowborough) - Again heard mixed things on this one but the website paints it as pretty perfect, even though it's pretty expensive. I think there's a waiting list though so again probably wouldn't be able to fish this year.

Anyone have anything to add to the above or know of any others that I could realistically target and get on this year? Any tickets nearby that I should be putting my name down for now for the future?

Thanks!
