Hello gents,

I'm a new member who enjoys getting out on the mainland and trying to catch some wild biggies with no names.

The chaps and I have been to the Rhone, the Seine and the Mayenne, all with some success with carp to 30.

The Loire is next on the list and wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

Obviously locations can be kept offline or through PMs, but would be great to know if anyone has fished the area around Tours and what they thought/lessons learned.

A lot of the river here looks very fast and shallow, so my thoughts are that it may be more of a roving approach, finding the deep areas, fishing them for 24/48hrs and then moving on if no success.

That and avoiding the cats at all costs!
