I made my own bait years ago, I still make my own hookbaits, it’s not a case of being lazy. I don’t have dry storage anymore for the sacks of ingredients. I can buy bait of decent enough quality to catch me fish for an affordable price.

Mainline state theres no fishmeal in the 8 ball when there clearly is they state theres no birdfood in the cell when there clearly is if you break it open you can see the seeds bait companies tell lies its all about selling by the time they put there profit on plus the tackleshop profit and fancy packaging its no wonder it ends up 10 quid plus a kilo, i dont know why peop[le dont make there own for 3 quid a kilo a quality bait can be made and a lot of satisfaction catching on your own, il wait for the excuses no: i dont make my own because more time can be spent fishing, BULL**** most peoples fishing time is is fixed around work a couple hours midweek making bait wont hurt anybody if you had an hour spare you wouldent go fishing its bait company selling tactics blah blah blah dont be lazy!

One of the baits I use from this company is a fishmeal based bait in stabilised form (shelf life) never had a problem with it at all. I have used there baits for a very long time now and have no issues with using Frozen or Shelf Life baits from ABS.

Either, put any decent bait in front of a fish and they will eat it.

So yesterday on the way home my phone rings and its a number i dont recognise, a chap on the other end sounds just like mr hearn himself. He asks about buying some particle and then goes on to say that a well known friend that we have in between (and this bit was true) has been singing our praises and that he loves one of my baits blah blah. Then he says he is thinking about leaving dynamite and looking for a new deal and i start getting all excited thinking that we have finaly hit the big time and all my hard work is paying off..........turns out it was my fishing buddy calling off his works mobile and him and his mates are pissing themselves in the background i totally fell for it
I guess what goes around comes around

Come on lads what is the date today???😂😂 I knew someone would give me a bite on April 1st! I set this up yesterday so we could have some good old fashion forum Kung fu cos Im bored. To be completely honest I have no idea what mainline use in basemix, do any of us?? Fair play to mark for sticking to his guns and keeping (fairly) cool.
We sell some mainline in the shop and People still ask for Active9.😂😂

Ok so I can shed some light on the argument. I am wrong and apparantly active 8 did have a tiny amount of fishmeal. There was an article about mainline not using fishmeal around the same time which is why I always thought they didn’t use it. The web page says it’s not a fishmeal hence why I always thought that was the case. I will hold my hands aloft on this occasion. The lad I know from mainline said it was grange that defo did not contain fishmeal (that was csl semo etc). Apologies mark, no need for ww3

Ok so I quickly went on the mainline page and looked for active 8 basemix. It says that activate is not a fishmeal but contains 8 ingredients some of which are new to carp fishing. Can anyone shed some light on this. I’m not trying to start ww3 mark just stating what I always thought and was told was a mix of semo, soy, maize and additives. I find it odd that they say on the page it’s not a fishmeal. I can find out for certain tomorrow
