Was pouring neat hydro wheat over my chopped boiles (cell) whilst in a bait boar hopper to be dropped over my spot (bait was dripping with it), I caught well from the unfancid side of our swim so was pleased (mixed with BAF liquid betaine). Tried to replicate it with a spomb at my syndicate lake but not with the same success, worth a try in my opinion but may not work everywhere?

Suppose it doesn’t have to be hydro wheat or csl. I just want a liquid to put over a nut type boilie but I want the liquid to be as active as I can possibly get I.e to look like a witches coldren

@ Viking: It was the Nutrabaits stuff I was using! I first found it in a local farmer's warehouse where it was sold in 5ltr poly kegs. I sent a bottle up to Bill who promptly bought it in bulk and bottled it for the shelves. I also found the seaweed granules, another NB 1st!

Can't remember asking, but nice find
CSL is acidic and the kelp is alkaline I assume?
May explain the reaction.

Ken, what kind of reaction did you experience by mixing those two?

It's difficult to describe: the bottle swelled alarmingly and when I went to release the pressure this foaming, bubbling brew spewed all over the place. I had a bucket of boilies nearby so I chucked the whole lot into the bucket, where it hubbled and bubbled like something out of Macbeth! The boilies worked like a charm but I was never able to repeat the reaction.

I once added some betastim to a mix of CSL and hydro wheat, gave it a little shake and it more or less exploded, frothed up and spurted out the bottle, went everywhere.... Most impressive reaction I've ever seen.

and which liquid kelp? I am still strugling to find a good one that would be similar to nutrabaits one that was sold 10 years ago.

That's interesting, the 5ltrs I got seems pretty lifeless, maybe just depends on the batch, not complaining, was just expecting more from it.

Might give it another go and get some more when I am ordering some csl, to see if it's any different.

I think if you are wanting to soak your boilies in it the csl would be the better option, everything tends to clump together with the hydro wheat, I suppose it just depends what you want from it, and what you are trying to achieve with it, etc.

To be fair to DNA, they really seem to rate it, I think all their boilie syrups are base on it.

If you're set on those then I'd mix them both. They're both very active from BAF. I had a 5l bottle of hydro that ended up splitting because I hadn't loosened the lid. You'll find the bottles will expand. Alternatively, go for the fish hydro as mentioned below.

Hi Colors

If you are looking into purchasing hydrolyzed liquids, choose the fish one.
However you choose to use it, use at least 3 times the amount suggested.
The manufacturing process for "nearly" all Hydrosolates don't take carp
attraction into consideration, so the amino acid yield is quite low

Hi mate. Have you ever seen the hydro wheat? It's a lot thicker than csl, if you haven't.

I haven't found the hydro wheat to be "active" (BAF stuff) at all. My preference would be csl, I haven't used the BAF version yet, but am planning too, I believe the BAF stuff is one of the few that hasn't been deactivated.

Hope this helps👍

im going to be using either the CSL or the Hydro wheat from british aqua feeds over my boilies this year.

At first i was all set on the CSL but after speaking with DNA baits (baf supply them with both products) they are pointing me more towards the hydro wheat.

has anyone used either and can tell me which one is the more active out of the two?
