When i first started buying cars it was buy the car then straight to Halfords for the Haynes manual, first car a 1969 escort Mk1 1100, GBH905G (it as 10 years old when i got it) can still remember it now, without out that manual i would have been scuppered when the head gasket went and then the brakes

A local to me businessman who employed a lot of my friends as printers over the years and has left us all a legacy in his fantastic Museum just a few miles from my home. R.I.P

Haynes manuals were my old mans bibles he used to buy bangers all the time and would quite often spend hours on the ****ter with a dirty oiled up manual.

Haynes Explains
enabled me to remove the engine from a Volvo Amazon and after I had a rebore and new crank fitted put it all back together used it for 5 years till my ex wife smashed it up ( I had no prior knowledge and it started first time after I put it back together )

I hate tinkering with cars but managed to replace the gearbox in my Granada 2.8 Ghia thanks to his manual
